Opposition to Zionism as a political ideology is not the same as hatred of Jewish people.
Jewish identity is not synonymous with any nationalist project.
Conflating the two obscures real structural racism against Palestinians and undermines genuine efforts to combat antisemitism.
This position aligns with the Green Party's existing
Anti-Racism Policy.

Against Ethnonationalism
The motion opposes an ethnonationalist Jewish settler colony to the exclusion/domination of non-Jews, just as the Green Party would oppose a Whites-only or Christians-only Britain.
This motion was drafted by Palestinians and anti-Zionist Jews, some of whom grew up in occupied Palestine and have direct, lived experience of this exclusionary system.
Not all Jews are Zionists and not all Zionists are Jews.
The motion targets a political ideology, not a religion or ethnic group.

Unfounded Disciplinary Fears The Zionism is Racism motion is an E motion, it cannot change party disciplinary structures.
Only a D motion could do that; claims of expulsion of those members who engage in religious practice are misinformation.
The Green Party Code of Conduct exists to prevent harmful behaviour, not to police beliefs.

We applaud Zack for his courage in confronting Zionism in such a hostile environment.

He wiped the floor with the genocidal Labour Party and their tacit support for settler colonial violence.

That is a testament to Zack’s self-professed journey away from Zionism and a step in the right direction.

This mirrors the journey away from Zionism that many must take.

This moment is also a testament to the hard work and determination of the Anti-Zionist movement.

A leader of a major political party has declared himself opposed to Zionism, in hustings run and attended by a Zionist organisation, while on the campaign trail to become a MP.

Just a couple years ago, this would have been seen as impossible, but our movement has turned this into a reality.

There is still work to do.

The only Zionism that materially exists is the Zionism that oppresses and murders Palestinians.

Zionism is a genocidal, settler-colonial and imperial ideology.

Palestine will only be free when the chains of settler colonialism are dismantled and replaced with a single democratic Palestinian State with equal rights for all and the right of return for all Palestinians and their descendants.

Last night was a breakthrough.

Next weekend let’s make history by passing the motion Zionism is Racism...without dilution.
