Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 13/10/2026Some reading material for my holiday. There's some very subtle suggestion to where I am going 130
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 12/10/2026After another break, here is part Six of my diary for this year's Upton Jazz Festival. Here I catch the tail end of the FiddleBop gig, and pay a visit to reopened Crown- formerly the Little Upton Muggery. #GypsyJazz #LiveJazz #UptonUponSevern thejazzocracy.blogspot.com/2026/10/upto...thejazzocracy.blogspot.comUPTON UPON SEVERN JAZZ FESTIVAL 2026 PART SIXI left the church and made my merry way across to the Rugby Club which was hosting the band FiddleBop, who were originally scheduled to pl... 020
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 10/10/2026A bit bored while waiting for my ruby to be cooked, so I thought of ten writers I wish had written for #DoctorWho on the TV. Tanith Lee Philip Levene Rob Grant and/or Doug Naylor David Renwick Christopher Wicking David Lynch Brian Clemens Andrew Marshall Tony Barwick Roy Clarke 030
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 08/10/2026I read Digby Fairweather's memoir about working with George Melly in his very late years. I think it's supposed to read as a wistful lament, it comes across as being mean about an old man, with an entire chapter on Melly's loss of control of his bowels. 000
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I am sure there was at least one series where they had one character (possibly Mrs Peacock) be the murderer twice to try and throw people off. 010
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Gotta to love my other GCSE English Teacher, Mrs Roberts. She didn't want to talk about Alice Walker's poems because she didn't feel that as 'a fat middle aged white woman from Lancashire' she couldn't appreciate the nuance. So she gave us a load of poems and stories by Dylan Thomas. 010
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Probably because I such a set mental image of how everything looks as an illustration thanks to Blake, an animated version would fall flat. And doing the Knids Ray Harryhausen style would be awesome 100
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 02/10/2026Yes, I don't think there anything is anything you couldn't do as a live action movie now. 30/40 years ago it might have been too ambitious as a live action unless you had George Lucas resources 100
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 02/10/2026How long do I take lack of communication from my beloved Sian as something to be worried about, and not Sian just having a trademark Sian moment? 000
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Only if they have one eye... insert cyclops/cyclist joke I can't be arsed to work out 100

Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I was always disappointed, and still am, that there has yet to be a film of the far more cinematic second novel. 160
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 01/10/2026From pauper to slavemaster, such a heartwarming story 1150
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 01/10/2026And of course the comment section is full of ableist "comedy." 010
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I'd now be tempted to do an episode where do the voice of Bluebottle from the Goon Show for the duration. 010
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 01/10/2026For a moment I thought that was written by the guy who the Blake’s 7 episode "Ultraworld" (and articles for mucky books I understand), but then remembered that was *Trever* Hoyle. 000
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Ah 2012 Twitter was golden... If memory serves, the tweet in question was about Banana Bread beer which lead to reasonably long thread with each of us expanding on the virtues of pumpkin beer and the Sticky Toffee Pudding ale (not a euphemism). 000
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I would regularly get in trouble for repeating the cheeky songs sung on the show by... was it Jack Thackery? 020
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 01/10/2026It was rated 15 for its cinema release, the rating was upped for the video release. I wonder what caused the change of rating. 010
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 30/09/2026If I was crushed to death by 16 tons worth of copies of "The Man in the Velvet Mask" falling on me, would the coroner's verdict be death by Missing Adventure???? 001
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 28/09/2026A cleverer person than I could rework Python's Summarise Proust Competition sketch to be about Dickens and not to do many changes 000
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Good episode that must have really benefited from being the season opener as the conceit of Cathy vs Steed would be harder to sell if buried mid-season. 011

Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 17/09/2026Think I am still on board with idea of the Third Doctor relying on Seymour Utterthwaite and Wesley Pegden to fix his McGauffin of the story to save the day... after Compo broke it. 010

Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 11/09/2026Dominic Glynn is probably *the* musical find of the latter years of Who. Ayres is good, but Glynn knocks it out the park on every single occasion. His score for Dragonfire does a lot of lifting for the story 020

Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 11/09/2026He's really relishing the role there isn't he? I think Terrance Dicks wrote his dialogue, and being Terrance he's clearly writing the Delgado Master. 150
Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 11/09/2026An excellent list with only a few surprises, I won't spoil which were the surprises for me. Nice to have some love for the second best Cybermen story with Silver in the title... 021

Michael Storm @sandmanjazz.bsky.social · 05/09/2026I loved it for the exact reasons it hasn't worked for you, I liked the tongue-in-cheek approach that admitted the original is a bit silly... but it it finally boils down to a simple good vs evil story. Though I wonder if seeing it on a massive screen in the Cinema helped sell the experience for me 010
