Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Books Celebrating Black Women Authors! #booksky #blackbooksky #contemparyromance The themes were very common, biological clocks ticking too fast, boyfriend not feeling the same way about kids, social and parental peer pressure even in mid-late 30s. Okay story, I liked the main character. 090
Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Book Celebrating Black Female Authors! #booksky #blackbooksky #familytrauma I don’t read much contemporary fiction, glad this one was recommended! Four generations of ‘grown women’ each trying to do better than their mother. The author nailed a universal experience telling a very specific story. 061
Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 12/09/2026Books Celebrating Black Female Authors!!! #booksky #blackbooksky #historicalfiction I have read fiction and nonfiction accounts of the ‘breeding’ of enslaved humans for profit before, but this book makes it more personal & more of a business model at the same time then anything else I have read. 090
Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Books Celebrating Black Female Authors! #booksky #blackbooksky #childabuse I am a huge Toni Morrison fan, yet somehow I didn’t even know this gem existed. It is written like beautiful spoken word poetry, it is compelling and hard to put down. Yet, the content is so painful, brutal, and relevant. 0112
Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 01/09/2026Reading Wrap for August… The Wandering Inn books are VERY long, so the have definitely cut into my book count for the year so far 😂🤦🏼♀️😂 010
Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 03/08/2026Monthly Wrap Up I’m also still reading Dungeon Crawler Carl everyday, usually for relaxing before going to sleep! 040
Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 18/07/2026Book Celebrating Female Authors! #booksky #lgbtq+ This story is incredibly beautiful. It is a case where being ‘predictable’ and ‘simple’ means the author had no where to hide. Exquisite proses and symbolism were a sheer perfection. This novella should be studied as a great example of Allegory! 070
Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 15/07/2026Celebrating books by Black Authors! #booksky #blackbooksky #historical #multiracialfamilies My Black to Front group never steers me wrong! This story was so compelling, bittersweet, and heartbreaking all at the same time. I ached for every single character. Lyrical, poetic, beautiful, & powerful. 080
Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 12/07/2026Celebrating books by Black authors! #booksky #blackbooksky #history #funny I don’t know what to say about this one. If you’re a Civil War history buff, this book is super funny and charming. It is not really my cup of tea, but I am happy I read it. I think it would make a fantastic movie! 130

Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 01/07/2026Books Celebrating Black Authors! #booksky #blackbooksky #familytrauma #stolenwealth The research that went into this historical fiction makes it more historical than fictional. Some of the names have been changed, but millions of Black families have been and still are being robbed ‘legally’. 5/5🌟 0102
Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 30/06/2026Books Celebrating Black Woman Authors! #booksky #blackbooksky #motherdaughterstory #historicalfiction This book broke my heart open many times. The relationships between the mothers and the daughters are deeply complicated. The way society treated women in 1950, is too much like current headlines! 010
Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 27/06/2026Books Celebrating Black Women Authors! #booksky #blackbooksky #lgbtq+representation I enjoyed this book very much! Two motherless girls growing up in the middle of the civil rights movement. The friendship, found families, and how two friends end up living two very different lives is engaging. 2100

Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 10/06/2026Books Celebrating Female Authors! #booksky #lgbtrepresentation #sapphicromance #comingofage I wasn’t sure I was going to like this one. Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 01/05/2026I read all 7 Dungeon Crawler Carl books again in April. They comfort and regulate me in ways I cannot explain. They give me hope, they help me feel powerful instead of powerless against the systems that are crushing us. I strongly recommend Cleopatra, Assata, and Atmosphere they are all great. 080
Sandie @sandiegrams.bsky.social · 25/04/2026Celebrating Female Authors! #booksky #lgbtqrepresentation #nasaprograms #latebloomer I enjoyed this book quite a bit.
