... Logical *Positivism* because, I argue, it was this label that took a life of its own. Priests would warn about the dangers of LP in church; advocates would view LP as a model of modern scientific thinking, and the New Left would identify LP as the ideology of the military-industrial complex.

Yes, there is some discussion about the importance (and origins) of these labels in the book. Feigl chose the term 'logical positivism' in the first US article about the movement. But most of his colleagues actually preferred other labels (such as 'logical empiricism'). The book is titled ...
