Additionally, taking one day over a couple of spaced out years would draw faulty conclusions about changes in climate trends. 130

However, users have the option to turn these alerts off (along with amber and silver alerts) and, in my experience, sometimes dont work. As for why no app, budget cuts. Theres no money alotted to the DoC to make a NWS app. 141
