Ben Gorodetsky’s Pinch Arts has contributed to much to this region’s cultural fabric. Many emerging artists have found their first paid gigs thanks to Ben. He understands world-class performance and how to fund it, and I’m grateful for all he has created to enrich our region. #Kitchener #WatReg
Endorsement from Ben Gorodetsky, Director of Pinch Arts and Ward 10 resident"I know Sam to be an energetic organizer, an informed participant in diverse civic processes, and a relentless optimist. From arts to environment to transportation to finance, I've heard Sam speak eloquently on many topics, and when faced with opposing viewpoints I've also heard him listen deeply."

It’s wonderful to see federal funding coming for residents who need to replace their home heating systems with cleaner heat pumps. As we transition from fossil fuels, this is the perfect opportunity for Kitchener Utilities to offer affordable rentals for heat pumps, solar panels and battery storage.

I’ve received more than 15 questionnaires, and I’ve made the time to answer all of them. It’s important for candidates to be transparent about what they hope to bring to the table, and to share those responses publicly so that voters can hold us accountable. #kitchener #watreg #wrpoli

In Monday’s Record, Luisa D’Amato writes about the barriers candidates face in reaching our neighbours who live in apartment buildings. My campaign has been to every corner of Ward 10 and made a concerted effort to connect with voters no matter what kind of building they live in. #kitchener
Newspaper headline, people in apartments, get less democracy than people in houses. Article written by Luisa D’Amato for the Waterloo Region RecordPeople living in houses get a chance to meet the candidate. They get a card or brochure left at the door. They can see who cared enough to stop by, and who didn’t bother to come around. People in apartment buildings are far less likely to get any of that attention. It’s disappointing to see the building manager is not aware of their responsibilities he said. This is not just someone coming in selling something. This is the Democratic process.

As co-owner of Full Circle Foods, I work with local farmers and producers, helping neighbours to make local and zero-waste shopping decisions. Together, we’ve saved over 167,000 single use packages from the landfill. We can think global and act local in Kitchener to do our part for the planet.
We deserve ambitious climate action: so what should we do in Kitchener? We deserve clean energy

Design neighbourhoods with enough density for efficient transit, utilities and district energy

Offer affordable heat pumps, electric water heaters, solar panels, and battery storage via Kitchener Utilities to reduce fossil fuel useWe deserve local food security

Uphold the countryside line to protect farmland

Expand access to community gardens so nobody is stuck on a wait list

Allow more food stores close to home, prioritizing local and independent shops

Explore the creation of a second Kitchener Market locationWe deserve healthy ecosystems

Accelerate creek naturalization efforts, increasing biodiversity and flood resilience

Enact a private tree protection bylaw to prevent clear-cutting during redevelopment

There are no shortcuts to an election campaign. We’re building momentum one conversation at a time, one door at a time, one neighbour at a time. As important as it is to connect online, the most effective way to volunteer for a candidate you support is to join them for door-knocking.
