OBS is working on an underlying fix for OBS Studio 33.0. Version 33 is currently available as a beta, while the latest stable version remains OBS 32.2.2. Updating OBS is important, but overlays need to handle chat input safely too. 🧵 4/5

I guess you can look forward to 2026.5 👀 The Trigger Pull command now has a new value called "message_no_emotes" for these 5 triggers: - Twitch Chat Message - Twitch Announcement - Twitch Bits - Twitch Default Power-Ups - Twitch Automatic Reward Redemption

In SAMMI 2026.5 you can expose the payload directly. For old buttons you need to turn this on first, but new buttons have this already enabled. With this you can just do something like /$payload.user_name$/ without a Trigger Pull. Huge shoutout to @silverlink.bsky.social for this suggestion💙

While I agree that most of the Deck Command are unnecessary, I'm not sure if being able to minimize that is worth it since it can introduce many potential issues. That beeing said, I'll check out if there is a good solution for this 💙

The big anti argument is that this can be very dangerous if you don't know what to do, so I would definitely lock this behind a setting that people need to activate first to not mess up things without knowing the risk (2/2)

I know that there are extensions out there, that let you run JS via an extension command directly in SAMMI. But maybe having that functionality natively, might be an option but the code itself would still need to run through the bridge. (1/2)

Transform your ordinary stream into interactive experience for your viewers with SAMMI

When you install SAMMI for the first time, you are supposed to create a new Dock in OBS for the bridge (sammi.solutions/docs/#addbri...) Then you always only need to open SAMMI, since the bridge is already open in OBS. I wish this would be doable in another way, but unfortunately it isn't 😔 (3/3)

By having the HTML file open, that file inserts custom commands into SAMMI, but without having it open as a host for the JS part, it wouldn't be able to execute the code. But tbh, you only need to open the bridge a single time. (2/3)

This is unfortunately not really doable, let me give you some details why. SAMMI itself is written in GMS2, while extensions are using JavaScript / HTML. When you install an extension, the content gets embedded into the HTML file since GMS2 can't run the extension code natively. (1/3)
