Moving back to my old workspace this week feels good. Glad to have the ability to stand again.

After debugging, I’m back to working on my projects and catching up on #100devs classes. I’m hoping to return to the Commit Your Code conference this September—further along in my journey than I was last year!

I’m back! Sorry to have disappeared. It’s been a busy start to the year after I took on a second job to help some friends and their small business. It’s starting to wind down and I’m eager to get back into code this week.

Hey #100devs peeps, since yesterday I've had several people reach out to set up a virtual coffee chat with me. I am excited to have this opportunity to talk with and learn about other devs on their journey. Please reach out if you are interested in setting up a coffee chat!

Solid Sunday. Rested up this morning, restocked my coffee and bagels, and got some dev time with @scrimba and some project planning for 2025.

My first tech conference was a blast! I met so many wonderful people both in the industry and those trying to get in. I learned something new from everyone I chatted with and walked away with new friendships and network. I’m looking forward to the next one, and to seeing all the friends I made.

It’s been a challenge the past week to get solid time in learning web dev and doing #100devs classes but I’m pushing myself this weekend. My plan is to watch Leon’s front end super review today and get back into JS on Sunday.

Sushi date night with my fiancé is my favorite kind of time. Much needed time to chat and reflect.

Excited that Death Stranding is now on Xbox consoles! Last time I played this was on my PS4 during the pandemic. I’ve been wanting to play the Director’s Cut in 4K before DS2 comes out.

I saw @jason.energy repost this tweet yesterday from @kdaigle.bsky.social that wonderfully describes the journey to becoming a developer and being a part of this community. I’m grateful to be on this path with y’all.

Busy 12hr shift but I managed to start a quick sketch of a website idea for my fiancé’s photography business. Needs a fair bit of work and fresh content, but it illustrates what I foresee for her website.

With GitHub Universe happening in a few days, I remembered I had picked up this book this summer. Now’s a good time to dive in!

I’m having fun with doing challenges on frontend mentor. This was a simple mobile and desktop layout. It’s nice having all the assets. I kinda want to pay for premium to play around with using the figma files.

Tweaked the hover to have the filter effect I originally wanted. Sorry to re-upload it. Just playing around with this quick layout this afternoon before the kids got out of school.

Getting in an hour of Scrimba before I start my shift for work. I’m looking forward to the next 4 days off work so I can make a big push on more CSS learning and finishing all my #100devs layouts.

Spent the afternoon working through more of Kevin Powell Conquering Responsive Layouts course. For each challenge I would build it up from scratch so I could get those reps in for styling the layouts.

I love pen and paper but lately I’ve been enjoying using Apple’s Freeform app to break down website layouts/designs when given as a pdf or image.

Up late playing with CSS grid. Firefox dev tool colors are damn nice looking! Really pops on this monitor.

I'm re-starting the journey of learning web development. I can't let another year slip by without putting in the work to finally achieve a career that I enjoy. I will post my progress as I go along, and eventually contribute my own posts of what I have learned and can pass along.
