Even though the bishop who spoke truth to Trump's power was not a great example herself, she did speak the right things...the subsequent response from Trump immediately after the service was rebellious and frankly wicked as has been the GOP's response. Drama is not the avenue to excusing crime. It is plain and simple. Crime needs to be properly dealt with. We cannot excuse it due to mental illness. If someone murders, they should be put to death no matter their mental capacity.

One of the problems is that the average person who never had a close loved one experience such crimes against their person, we cannot fathom the horror of such an attack and cannot understand that the criminal does not deserve to continue to live.

It's about consequence and ridding the nation of evil criminality. Such as the woman that premeditatedly drown her kids in a vehicle. She should be put to death as a consequence and to establish prevention. But the nation got behind on consistent punishment and things got out of hand.
