It's all I could think of seeing the fork.

Scouting America bent the knee today. In an agreement with "Dept. of War" they're nixing the Citizenship Merit badge which discusses DEI & ethical leadership and are launching a Military Service merit badge "developed in coordination with the department." New scout slogan? It's all about the money!

Description of what the agreement covers:

What This Agreement Delivers
Continued support for Scouting on military installations worldwide
Ongoing Department support for National Jamborees and other events
New benefits for military families, including waiving registration fees for children of active-duty, Guard, and Reserve families
Launching a new Military Service merit badge, developed in cooperation with the Department
Memorializing our existing practices for membership registration and safeguarding youth
As part of Scouting America’s commitment to comply with Executive Order 14173, we will be discontinuing the Citizenship in Society merit badge. While this change complies with the Executive Order, the lessons found in this merit badge are found throughout the Scouting program. Scouting has always taught respect for others, leadership, and consideration of diverse perspectives through the ideals enshrined in the Scout Oath and Law. Scouting America’s mission remains unchanged and is reinforced across our advancement, leadership development, and outdoor experiences.

Our emphasis on duty to God, duty to country, and service to others is strengthened by this partnership. Scouting’s values have not changed, and they will not change.

Scouting America and the Department of War
Scouting Family,

Today, Scouting America and the Department of War finalized a commitment to strengthen our longstanding partnership with the U.S. military. Over several months, we engaged in dialogue with Department leadership to align on how we could deepen our service to military families, while making programmatic updates to comply with Executive Order 14173.

Throughout our discussions, we remained true to the core commitments that define our organization—our name, our mission, and our promise to serve all youth in our programs. Those commitments are unchanged. We will continue to deliver stability, mentorship, and opportunity to the children of those who serve our nation.

Nothing to be sorry about, didn’t bother me at all. I’m a parent and I get the frustration. I saw a few others mention Wake and I’m always happy to connect with families. This really happened here. 🤣

I see that I wasn't the only person who had this immediate thought. The kids might not get this one.

Tonight Schumer claimed support of the Caucus. Senate Dems must replace Schumer & Durbin to restore trust or they are all complicit. That's where we are now.

Text says "I hate this awful bill, but instead of fighting for changes, I'm going to help it pass. But it doesn't mean I support it, but it's also important not to stop it. Now let's get to fighting Trump but only if it's not confrontational and doesn't require us to atually fight for anything."

Look at me making Fox News. So far it's mostly just insults with a couple of threats. Good times.

I haven't seen this mentioned but, imho, the person most responsible for were we are today is Chief Justice Roberts. History will eviscerate his "leadership" of the court.

Picture says we need protests at SCOTUS too. Chief Justice Roberts is directly responsible for this mess. 1. Citizens United 2. Partisan Gerrymandering 3. POTUS immunity

During my comments after being sworn in for my second term tonight, I took the opportunity to speak directly about this issue as a NC GOP State Supreme Court justice was there to administer the oath for a colleague of mine. It had to be said.

Some local media is fantastic like WUNC and INDYWeek, but the local news channels less so. The lead on WRAL? Snow flurries. The story on what happened in the NC Senate yesterday, that impacts our lives, is already buried. We have to demand more from our local press as well.

Are Green Party voters on this site now? I really want to start a dialogue with them about how we can better align so we don’t end up with the GOP destroying what we both care about. I come in peace but I don’t lead with both parties are the same. #greenparty #strongertogether
