Oh no! Iberia did this to us last Christmas! Some luggage left in Boston, some luggage left in Madrid. But we were on an island off the coast of Africa… we got it all… eventually. Hoping they put your luggage on the next flight to wherever you are going!! Safe travels!

My team won first place at the World Championships in 1994 (it was at Iowa state university). Only time I’ve ever been a world champion at anything. Did it make me popular? 32 years later, i’ve got 1k followers on bluesky. Coincidence? Not a chance!

Right, Finnish! I remember now, we were discussing our nordic language learning because I know Norwegian. Learning Japanese is amazing, I am envious. I have been struggling with learning Portuguese for years.

If your team placed 1st or 2nd at regionals, you went to states. If you won 1st place at states, you went to worlds, held on a university campus. I did from 2nd to 12th grade and made it to worlds twice. My dad called it the “Nerd Olympics” 😹😹

LOL, Odyssey of the Mind is a team competition where each team solves a specific problem in a creative way. Teams present their solutions via an 8 minute skit (at least it was like this when I did it). Teams were given the problem in September and we presented our solution in April.

Ok, so i have been terrified of bats since i can remember. My older cousin told me they could get tangled in my hair and bite me and that they had rabies. No wonder i had severe sleep deprivation as a child, lol.

I think they do get better, i.e., come back to life. And no, I think watching it might be good for me, face my fears and all that. I mean, I am 40 whole years older now, LOL. 😂

All i remember are the scenes where various characters are underwater but have some air left but the water is rising and rising and they just… drown. It shook me as a kid. I probably dreamt i was drowning a few times a week after watching it. I guess I missed the love part. Maybe I need closure?

Xtine @sameasdixtinary.bsky.social · 06/10/2026

And THAT is precisely what gave me terrible nightmares - those very scenes!! I kind of want to rewatch it (i never watched it again after the first time) to better understand what the movie is actually about, but I don’t think I can.

Crits For Cats, Inc. Cat Rescue @crits4cats.org · 05/10/2026

Our dear dear friend Haley at @friendsofbear.bsky.social has a very sick, sweet geriatric kitty who is in the hospital dealing with some stuff. She posted on her IG that all she’d like for her birthday today is some donations for his care: linktr.ee/friendsofbear

An orange tabby cat who is a bit old and scrungly sleeping inside a cubby bed.

An old orange tabby cat who is a bit disheveled and scrungly, looking quite under the weather with an IV catheter in one leg and a kind hand scritching his cheek gently.

friendsofbearcatrescue one of my favorite little FoB sanctuary buddies Mr. Peaches is currently in the hospital
no pressure but it's my birthday today
and I would love nothing more than if you could donate toward his hospital bill so we can give him the best chance
our donation links are in our bio!
Peaches came to us at the end of May after 13 hard years on the street. His time outside definitely showed, he was in horrendous shape and weighed 5
Ibs of mostly fleas. Since then, we have been managing his various conditions. He's dealt with anemia, congestion, gastric ulcers, kidney disease, horrible dental disease... the list goes on. We've been slowly chipping away at these issues and he was actually starting to feel pretty good! A couple weeks ago, he started backsliding and I've been trying to figure him out. This weekend, it became clear he was declining and what I was doing at home wasn't enough, so I had to admit him to the hospital.
Peaches is dealing with an infection, dehydration, another gastric ulcer, pretty awful congestion and a mild hit to his kidneys. Thankfully, after 24 hrs of fluids, he's showing improvement. Through all of this, he continues to have the loudest purr and best headbutts for everyone who helps him
I feel hopeful that we can get Peaches back on track and give him more time to feel loved and cherished, something he missed out on for his first 13 years of life. If you're able to pitch in $1 or $5 toward his care, we would all appreciate it more than you know.
Everyone who has met this little guy knows how special he is and how much he wants to stick around
thank you all as always for the ongoing support for these gross cats, they are my heart and soul and your donations and kind comments mean the world to me
