Our dear dear friend Haley at @friendsofbear.bsky.social has a very sick, sweet geriatric kitty who is in the hospital dealing with some stuff. She posted on her IG that all she’d like for her birthday today is some donations for his care: linktr.ee/friendsofbear

Peaches came to us at the end of May after 13 hard years on the street. His time outside definitely showed, he was in horrendous shape and weighed 5
Ibs of mostly fleas. Since then, we have been managing his various conditions. He's dealt with anemia, congestion, gastric ulcers, kidney disease, horrible dental disease... the list goes on. We've been slowly chipping away at these issues and he was actually starting to feel pretty good! A couple weeks ago, he started backsliding and I've been trying to figure him out. This weekend, it became clear he was declining and what I was doing at home wasn't enough, so I had to admit him to the hospital.
Peaches is dealing with an infection, dehydration, another gastric ulcer, pretty awful congestion and a mild hit to his kidneys. Thankfully, after 24 hrs of fluids, he's showing improvement. Through all of this, he continues to have the loudest purr and best headbutts for everyone who helps him
I feel hopeful that we can get Peaches back on track and give him more time to feel loved and cherished, something he missed out on for his first 13 years of life. If you're able to pitch in $1 or $5 toward his care, we would all appreciate it more than you know.
Everyone who has met this little guy knows how special he is and how much he wants to stick around

Shrimp lays like this when he wants me to pet his belly. He was far too tired to stay awake for the five seconds it took for me to walk over, so he fell asleep like this 😅 (Please excuse all the random stuff laying around that the cats love playing with)

One of Shrimp’s favorite daily rituals is to bully me to lay down when it’s bedtime and tenderize me (AKA make biscuits on my stomach for quite a long time). Sometimes he’ll get so into it he’ll blep while making biscuits. I finally caught a huge blep on camera!

Shrimpy did great at his vet appointment today! His eyes look like they’re still doing great and he got a clean bill of health! He was very brave and even spent some time exploring the exam room, especially the computer holder he hid out in 😻

I finally found the blanket that Haley sent Shrimp and Grits home with, I thought I had lost it. Gave it a wash and laid it out where Grits loves to sleep. He immediately laid down and relaxed on it 😭

Shrimp had another vet visit today and he was very brave and hid behind my back when he heard a dog being very loud 😅 Shrimp is okay, he had a gummy eye that we’re keeping an eye on (sorry) to make sure it doesn’t worsen. Gotta stay on top of this fella’s eyes!
