They encouraged Otis to decorate the spare bedroom that had become his - offered to take him shopping, buy posters, new bedclothes, new paint, anything. But Otis looked to the side, said maybe, but never said yes. So the room looked the same as it had as a guest bedroom, with 2 exceptions. 5/7

His foster parents noticed that though they had a maid, Otis did his own laundry, cleaned up his dishes, repaired the sink when it leaked, cleaned his own bathroom, and looked alarmed when they said he didn't need to do those things. So they just let him do them. There was a lot they noticed. 4/7

So Otis had had that life - and then this one, and he had no idea how those 2 lives could exist together. When his mother called him, he did not return the calls. When his parents had coped with the removal of the children by replacing them with new babies, he knew it was over with them. 3/7

Otis could not recall any adults ever taking care of him. He had been the eldest of 6, and for most of his life had been a kind of parent to the younger ones. His parents barely coped, and then they didn't - and so the children had been removed after a report had been made. 2/7

Otis had been with the Heckings for several months. They had poured into him. They gave him his own room, and even his own "study" - with tv, his own computer, books, and plenty of video games. They gave him athletic gear and took him on his first ever vacation. And they gave him their time. 1/7

They knew their lifestyles would not mesh well with very young children, but they liked the idea of being role models and caretakers for a teenager who could really use attention, care, and their resources. Someone they could pour into. And so it was that 15 year old Otis came to live with them. 7/7

But the house, though beautiful, was big. There were several bedrooms, but just 2 humans. There was room for Brent's studio, a workout room, a hot tub and pool, a study, two sitting rooms, dining and kitchen, a garden, and more. (Original shell by Harrie, with my interior decorating) 5/7

They were well known for their charity fundraisers in their home, raising funds for animal rescue (as both their dogs had been). Pet adoptions had skyrocketed in town. They also raised funds for elderly and disabled sims who had pets to be able to keep them. 4/7

Since Brent hit it big in the art world, the couple splurged on building a new home on the lot they had already owned. It's been a project of love for them both, housing the art that they have collected, and establishing a standard of taste in the town (mostly Brent's taste to be sure).2/7

It's a rainy Harvestfest day at the Hecking household in Brindleton Bay. It turns out that if you feed a home cooked meal to one dog, the other dog will show up and complain (there have been quite a few changes to the Hecking household, an extra dog is only one of them). I'm playing in my new save with some classic Sims families, making them over, redoing homes, and playing them a bit before moving on. I had deep storylines with all of them (except Don Lothario) from an earlier save so not sure how it will be to start over? Posting pics tho- here are the Goths!

Finally found the problem mod that was preventing me from loading my saves. Spent quite a few hours in the 5/50 mines - but all is well! Can't wait to get back to playing these 2 sims: brothers Thadg Mac an Baird and Rónán Mac an Baird. They are thriving in a renovated church in WIndenberg.

There are places to relax and socialize too, and grab a bite. I have them scheduled to be in the studios for certain hours and snacking and socializing at other hours. I used to have s studio in a set up like this but it was no here near as nice. I may redo the shell to be more beat up in the future

This is my second co-working space using the custom venue type. This way my sims with WFH or freelance careers can have places to go to work and be surrounded by my own other sims doing their work also. So far it works pretty well!

I figured out how to use custom venues to make an artist's collective studio! Four large studios for pottery and painting. Extra spaces for storage, snacks, socializing and woodworking. Artists are mostly not in the career but serious and needing the space and artistic support! More pics below.

Does anyone know what causes these notifications? They are spamming over and over in my sims household suddenly and I need them to stop. I don't know what's casing this. The sim is in the Royalty career and has a dynasty also.

Three repeated notifications saying the value of the household is either over or under 250 Simoleons.

This is the first iteration of the house- it was just one room (now there's a tiny bedroom attached in the rear). It hasn't changed much. It's still pretty basic, and the plumbing is all outdoor. I am not much of a builder, but that fits the story lol.

It started with just a tent, and high natural living skills. But Cody has a son, who spends holidays with him now, and so he's put down more roots. And he built not just the cottage - but also a shed in the rear, for his consultations, gallery and sales.

Cody grew up in Gibbi Point where there's a lineage of fair haired merfolk. He moved to Sulani to delve deep into traditional Merfolk culture- where it all originated. He lives alone and simply, on Mua Pel'am, selling nature photos and scavenged trinkets and shells to make a living. #TheSims4

I'm playing in Sulani with merfolk, using Spinning Plumbob's Expanded Mermaids mod (HIGHLY recommend!). I thought I'd casually post from my game play for a bit. It centers on one sim, Cody McLaughlin, but aIso rotates to other merfolk on the island, as that's my play style. #TheSims4

Can anyone give advice? Not sure what happened- this lot has the lot type greyed out and can't be changed. Says disabled for special venues but it's not a special venue. I had a generic lot on it with a bit of cc that I removed.Even if I download a lot with a different lot type, this doesn't change.
