Revisited the NYT dialect map tool since folks are posting such all over my skyline. Tickled to find that they narrowed down the region I've spent the most time in (Northeast Texas). I've lived in about two dozen cities across six states. The south left its mark
Dialect quiz results featuring a graded heat map of the United States. Cities Little Rock Arkansas, Irving Texas, and Arlington Texas are highlighted as dialect centers.

Adored this strange little man.

A little snapshot of my Google Scholar results while the platform still exists. I'm thinking of doing a zine-companion series where I reflect on the scholarly process and maybe review the papers that have cited my stuff in more than a cursory way.
Snapshot of google Scholar results for Sam Winn, aka Sam Bramble. Four publications are listed: Ethics of Access in Displaced Archives, the hubris of neutrality in archives, Dying Well in the Anthropocene: On the end of Archivists, and Radical Empathy in Peer Education: A case study on deconstruction whiteness.

I know these are spam bots, but I truly love the idea of cam girls bullying Lalas. 10/10 would subscribe to this world cup coverage.

Weird vibes this morning, so I'm diving into my listening libraries. First up, ATCQ's Midnight Marauders. I was five when this album originally came out, living in rural (deeply rural, like imagine where trail rides start) North East Texas. Didn't hear it until college.

Picture on the left is me at 32. Picture on the right is me at 38. When I hit 35, I woke up and decided I really wanted to live. left my whole life behind and started over. There have been hella struggles, but I still want to live. I have peace. Aging is cool as shit.
OP at age 32, white-passing chubby person with slightly yellow teeth and small rectangle frames. They hold a white cup that says archives PhD.

Behind the picture: I had just been accepted to University of Arizona, making the decision to leave my continued appointment at Virginia Tech. It was the first May of the pandemic. In the years prior, I had been fighting a chronic EBV infection with recurring complications. Surgery and a pneumonia shot set me up for 2020. I had in this picture just recovered from the flu type A. Working from home was the first rest I'd had in years. Selfie of OP in 2026. Though wearing a visible back brace, they look healthier from the inside out with clearer skin and a big smile. They wear purple and turquoise chromatic cat eye glasses. They hold a yellow ceramic mug with cherry stained fingers. Since 2020, OP went through a divorce, long-covid, four cross country moves, a disabling spine injury, a couple toxic relationships, a friend break-up, and a period of no-contact and reconciliation with family. They came out of the closet as queer for the fourth time and as gender nonconforming for the first time (out loud). OP is fully dependent on the mercy of friends and family while they heal, and yet they are visibly happy.

Rewatching Marianne (Netflix produced French language horror series). I binged it during the early pandemic. Scary as heck.
Poster for Marianne, French horror series on Netflix. Featuring a pale woman with lips that are slightly too wide, a gash on her right cheek, and some kind of grey gauze over her eyes.

Without downloading anything new, where are you mentally?

A decent low-effort (wash and dry) hair day AND my experimental meal from random food bank vegetables turned out delicious. That's a downright alright day, thanks be to g-d.
Selfie of a barely smirking pale-skinned person with red-brown hair that softly and chaotically curls to a length just below the shoulders. Subject sits against a beige wall. Part of a quarter sleeve tattoo is shown, a selection of tropical flowers shaded in the style of coloring pencils. The subject's glasses frames are pearlescent purple cat eyes that shift to turquoise, with pink tinted lenses.

Your last saved meme is your moral philosophy.
An allegedly real tumblr post reads, "Chicago man arrested after repeatedly stealing guns off of officers using a toy dino grabber."

A commenter replies, "Controversial opinion but I don't think people should go to jail for objectively funny crimes."

Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Holocaust survivor, in the X-Men prequels. He is wearing a white polo, khaki pants, and brown belt. Sitting at an ornate wooden bar, he looks over his shoulder at a figure just past the camera. Discerning viewers will recall that he is looking at a Nazi he's been tracking down. He smiles.
