He did nothing wrong. He was sitting in the middle of the lane, on a city-bike, waiting to turn right. There were lights on the bike. A distracted driver plowed him down and van ran over his head. No-one is getting prosecuted. The police barely investigated. The driver's insurance still hasn't paid.

He is back home now, but it's taken months. He's walking with a stick, deaf in one ear and gets very tired still. He has a plate and a shunt in his head. His balance is gone so will never ride a bike again. His doctors say that this is what we've got from now on.
