Discord just told me they put me in the teens group because they aren't sure I'm an adult? As a living fossil in my 30s I'll take that as a compliment, thank you Wumpus xD

Guess today is the first time this year I wasn't so lucky with going on a bike tour and the weather. Got soaked pretty well, haha. Time for a relaxing shower ^^

Ordered a scientifically backed book about the Chicxulub event for a project I'm working on. Been some time since I've actually read a physical book, haha x)

Just learned that the Paleo Pines devs are in trouble right now as their publisher seems to have financial issues. Gosh I hope they can resolve the situation, I wish them the best of success <3

Just did a what-if check, pretending to book flights and a hotel for a convention in the UK. Would it be possible, budget wise? Mayyyyybe? ;D ;D

Hm, so in order to leave more than one reaction emoji on a Telegram post I need Premium? That's kinda funny 🤣 Like Lefty the Salesman on Sesame Street. Maybe they should try that too: selling letters after disabling them on your keyboard. "Would you like to buy an O? Maybe a T?"

My thoughts after trying to find some nice Utahraptor goodies on Amazon and even Etsy(!) ;-; I'm not interested in raptors with only one sickle claw on only one foot, 4 toes and no sickle, two toes and a sickle in between them, ...

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss. Take all the time you need :c

Like to be honest, if peeps are on there to get in touch with peers who're looking for an adventure that's totally cool. It's just not my cup of tea and I will respectfully state that if need be. Just don't be a dork and hit "Block" if you don't get the reply you want. That's totally uncool.

020

Sam Retro-Talon @sam.raptor-care.center · 23/09/2026

Just got an explicit message from some stranger on BARQ and politely replied I'm not interested. Immediately got blocked. Guess their cluck-cluck rooster couldn't handle being denied? xD

Not sure if this is another bird brain moment of mine but I just learned that @savage-mojo.bsky.social was actually running a paleo backpack campaign last year, now I want one so badly, haha xD Glad I bumped into their TinySaurs tho ^-^ (www.backerkit.com/c/projects/s... ends in 2d)

Got a wee bit emotional when I saw this because it’s just so flippin‘ adorable of her. That’s a really cute plush! What an unique gift - as someone who has sewn their own big raptor plushie I totally dig this! ♥️

Boy oh boy, my sleep cycle is garbage right now. Kinda wished I could sleep normally again but I either fall asleep and wake up again prematurely or I can't fall asleep at all. It's frustrating :/

Sam Retro-Talon @sam.raptor-care.center · 17/09/2026

In the past people thought that in autumn flies would start to bite and suck blood like mosquitos. Of course that was just mother nature who gave this little critter a sexy straw to poke at living things. Little stable fly I caught and released - looks like a regular fly but it loves your blood (:

My doc's been using a platform / app to manage various things which has been working ok. Now they've just sent me a notification about their newest feature: ✨ AI Assistants ✨ People are already shredding each other apart over this.

Cow Orker 😂🐄 I have no idea why but that kind of sounds like the basic idea behind a silly book title in a game: Tales of Claude the Cow Orker Vol 3: The Sequel Continues

Just been shown a demo of an AI code plugin and it felt like watching a slapstick comedy show. Dude had to revise code very often, it was humorous at best. Honestly would like to see hardware prices drop again a lot more. But it feels like I'm waiting for Godot there *sighs*

Back to stone age! xD Well not quite... Internet went brrrrr and my mobile connection is garbage because of the nearby festival. Got to at least say hi on Twitch albeit with potato resolution :3 Thank goodness Paleo Pines works offline though, gonna pet some dinos then curl up to sleep ^~^

A desert right next to a lush forest? Anything's possible in Unreal Engine! Learning some advanced techniques to create maps in Unreal 5.8 right now.

Family seems to enjoy it, half of that tarté is already gone, haha xD

According to what I researched, this is a "Tarté Bourdaloue aux Pommes", an apple pie which supposedly originates from Rue Bourdaloue in Paris. 🇫🇷🍎🥧 I learned a few things like what a pâte sucrée is (dough) and how to make a crème d'amande. Could improve some things but it really tastes great!

Looking forward to trying out this nice dish I found yesterday! Didn't know Pyrex is a French brand, maybe I should inaugurate it by baking a French apple tarté? 🍎 🇫🇷

Ah, aye! One of the places on my bucket list. Kinda reminded me of one of the US airports but it never hurts to ask instead of just assuming ^^ In any case have a safe and relaxing flight! (:

Is that an airport in the US? They have quite a few Delta birds parked there!

Gotta tidy up your giant raptor plushie before her hatchday comes - been almost a year since I finished putting her together. First time I ever did something like this and I made a few mistakes - which I'm now taking care of!

- Meringue can "weep" (small caramel beads form on its top). - Making pre made US recipe pie crust from scratch is challenging in terms of consistency and amount of dough needed. - There's other kinds of meringue: Swiss and Italian. - The food processor I used isn't suited for making meringue.

010

Sam Retro-Talon @sam.raptor-care.center · 28/08/2026

Lemon meringue pie! It was an interesting experience, I've also learned a few things (see next post). There's room for improvement but the pie tasted quite nice. (: I wonder if this would've cheered up Owen? (Probably not because Bongo's shenanigans would have ruined it, hrhr).

Waking up at 4am and not being able to go back to sleep wasn't good. Tired raptor is super tired now! 💤 At least I was able to bake a lemon meringue pie today, yeerawr! :3

🍋 Lemons are one of my fav (aside from straw- and blueberries or ginger) so maybe I should make a lemon meringue pie next? Right? Right. Lemon meringue pie it is! 🍋 🥚 🥧

Okies... Time for something new: Paleo Pines kind of inspired me to try baking an apple pie! 🍎 🥧 🦕 Never done it, was fun and tastes really great! I'm especially happy the filling did not turn into apple sauce xD

Been thinking about getting a trackball mouse for a few reasons. But dunno yet, still doing my research. My wrist would certainly like the change and I wouldn't have to worry about space requirements like I do with a regular mouse I guess x)

What's sad is that due to political incompetence from Brussels (EU) this is going to be the last order from CWD until further notice because of the new packaging laws. Too bad there's no minimum cerebral mass law in the parliament, else this would've probably not happened.
