This is a first for me, not the galaxy M33, but the short solid line at the bottom which is the asteroid Eros approx 10 miles diameter, it's spud like in shape and currently 40 million miles away, it was visited in 1998 by the probe NEAR Shoemaker. #astronomy #dwarfmini

Star trails centred on Polaris, the North Star, who lives just above my chimney. Clever OM1ii has a setting called live composite so my part is minimal. I set the time of each exposure - 15 seconds - and OM1ii will take 1440 exposures in 6 hrs then blend them together. This is 2 6hrs, 2 one hour & one 30 minutes blended in StarStax.

Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) is near the star Epsilon Boötis (Izar) early this evening. Catch it low to the west as soon as it gets dark. It sets around 22:00 UT (23:00 BST). The comet could be naked eye visible and will be a fine sight in binoculars or a telescope. #Astrophotography #Astronomy

Noctilucent cloud season is underway. If you have clear skies in the UK over the next 8-10 weeks, look north 60-90 minutes after sunset or before sunrise, look for bright white lacey clouds, these are rare clouds 50 miles high, pic is from 2021 #nlc #noctilucent #weather #astronomy #stormhour
Nightshining clouds,or NLC's are ice particles formed on meteor dust some 50 miles high, lit up by the sun thats below the horizon, they have a beautiful but etheral look

It's #Saturn ring-plane crossing day! A once in a 13-15 yr event when Saturn's rings are edge on, as viewed from Earth, making them appear to disappear! I'm so infuriated that the Sun is in the way meaning no-one will see it! 😡 We'll just have to imagine it 😞 👇The last time it was seen in 1995. 🔭🧪
Two images of Saturn, one from December 1994 when you can the gorgeous ring is prominent around the planet. The one from May 1995, the ring has vanished leaving only two bright dots which are two of Saturns moons.
