That might just be him. I'm autistic & I've never even tried mountain dew.

I will. Thank you so much. The reason I hoped it was the radio show is because it made me smile to see that it was still going. I remember hearing about some of the storylines being juicy over the years. Everything I've ever heard about it actually sounds really fun.

It's so obvious to me when he's being sarcastic. I don't know why others can't read him. It's the same when he's joking too which he does a lot. The amount of people who say they really can't tell when he's stood there with that twinkle in his eye & daft grin amazes me.

I totally missed that aspect. But yeh, that's spot on.

I think he has a bit of a refusal to read between the lines ontop of his inability to do it without a lot of effort. & to be honest I love that about him. He's so pedantic 😂

Sal @sallycinnamon.bsky.social · 23/08/2025
You sound just like him 😂 Yeh he answered the latter because "that is the question she asked, not what was I doing just or what was I supposed to be doing. If she meant that she should have said it".

Puddles are always by the crossings aren't they? The pavement & road must get worn away by so many people walking over the same spot. Beautiful capture 🫶

Sal @sallycinnamon.bsky.social · 23/08/2025
Sorry. I thought she was trying to sell me stocks in a company with the same name. Probably another joke hat went over my head because I wasn't sure what "archers" you were on about. I'm really not doing well at spotting them today.

They're the people who follow the correct programming to keep the system the way it is. We should call them the easily ordered.

I've actually never listened to it as an adult, but I remember family doing so when I was little. I'm going to give it a listen based on your reccomendation. Thanks Jules 😊

The Archers has been trending for a couple of days. The only "the archers" I know is the BBC Radio 4 drama about farming. Is it that or something else? #TheArchers

It makes me feel closer to her & further away all at the same time. It's bitter sweet, but it reminds me of how lovely she was & what joy she brought to our lives.

I often walk in the local nature reserve & a few local beauty spots where we used to take our childhood dog. It does make my head glitch. Everywhere I look I see memories of her imprinted. I remember all the places she used to stop & "read her pee mails", the fields where she used to like to run.

You seem more exhausted & with reason. That's a lot of heavy deep work.

I used to love walking the dog through the local nature reserve. Doing it without now feels like it's missing a dog. I'll reply back later after watching the video & having some tea. Be gentle with yourself in the meantime though. People care 💛

It's no problem. You were obviously mentally overloaded at the time. It's nice to know that lifes rewarding you with little things like that. I'm going to watch the video now & live viceriously through your adventure.

But I understand it's because we're the ones whose brains work differently than the majority. The system values conformity above what's correct. I can't hand on my heart explain to him what he did wrong, because I can't see anything wrong in what he did.

He'll never be able to make sense of it. He understands that she was talking in between the lines or in code as he sees it, but not how to decode what she actually meant, so he can't make sense as to why it's his fault. I can't either, when it comes to logic. 👇

One day, a supervisor asked him where he was & he replied that he was in the hallway. She then tried to clarify by asking what he was doing. He replied by saying he was talking to her. They sent him to see a mental health worker because of his communication based on that. 👇

I work for myself, but my husband was always getting into trouble when he worked in a factory. It made him really ill in the end. for anyone who doesn't want to read the whole thread in a reply the following is just an example. 🧵👇

Hey, just wanted to say if you’re around again, I’d like to know you’re okay. No pressure and no judgement — just thinking of you.

I like that it's helping you to process, but I hope you find a better solution. Burn out's fucking awful. I'm glad you're keeping up with healthy habbits even when feeling that low. I miss having a dog. Do you go anywhere nice?

Have you ever tried journaling? Or if you find writing difficult, video or audio journaling? I find it a great way of organising my thoughts. That then helps me be more able to communicate them & often once they're organised I don't even need to. #AskingAutistics

This is a coincidence. I just added this video to my youtube playlist about why autistics don't automatically buy into the narrative. You don't have to watch it, I haven't even watched it yet. But I'll stick it here in case you find it interesting or helpful. www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7OH...

Although I can still love people when it's clearly not reciprocated, I don't usually hand my heart over to them. I simply think fondly of them when I do think about them & wish them the best from a distance. It's my naivity & gullability when people aren't genuine that tripped me up.
010
Sal @sallycinnamon.bsky.social · 21/08/2025
No not for me. But I'm not sure that's a good thing. I've had an experience years ago where someone pretended to like me to bully me & I couldn't tell until I was in too deep. I suppose it's okay as long as you realise that it doesn't go both ways. That hurts, but I can deal with hurtful realities.

The thing that stopped me from banging my head when I was younger was growing out of the environment that was making me so ill. I really think it's about recognising limitations & unhealthy environments & managing stress.

I've managed to limit mine to when I first wake up if I'm already in a CPTSD flashback. What I did was had a good think about triggers & how to limit them, plus a lot of work on self regulation. Building coping mechanisms for the smaller stressors before they accumulate & being kind to myself.
