It’s funny reading these old detective stories which, although popular at the time, have not made the jump to now like an Agatha Christie. The vocabulary and complex sentences just will not do for the present day. And this was ‘an entertainment’ in Graham Greene’s words. I worry about our brains.

A big, ugly and very old plastic picture hanging stud thingy. Intact

The same plastic doo-hickey. Now an obvious scene of a crime, an ugly battle of some description. Tools which clearly have been chosen with increasing desperation. A corkscrew (tiktok suggestion: just no), pliers, all manner and size of screw drivers, nail scissors, tweezers, my best paring knife. I must excuse myself from the scene, before i have to pay a drywaller.

I was certain you would spring for the extra for beaux 😁 Jokes aside it was crazy here. Our giant trees are still standing but our neighbour’s yard is a swimming pool. I’ll have the trees trimmed as soon as i get new eavestroughing.

I spent the summer in Cornwall 2 years ago and as i found myself in HMV Plymouth, I bought this DVD series for a souvenir. I can’t believe how au point this story is for these troubled times we are in. I’m glad I didn’t get round to it sooner.

Daughter & I went to Pinery today. Bad news: no swimming due to bacteria. Good news: roads have been closed to traffic for rewilding and are turned into foot paths. Also bats, who are in a housing crisis like the rest of us, apparently, have new accomodations.

I’m in Newfoundland and i could be posting beautiful scenery enjoyed in lovely cool temps but instead i’m posting a picture of my frog friend (toad?) from Gros Morne. We were only together 30 seconds but he didn’t seem scared and i feel we had a meaingful connection.

Recycling compliance in southern ontario. Of course, as we all know, barely any of the contents of these bins will get recycled in Ford’s dystopia. Makes me really curious why money was wasted on new bins. Click to see more uniformity. We deserve our fate.

I can’t have flowers much, just a few begonia in pots, but I have the most exciting back garden, in total shade. Bunnies birds squirrels. They all love the water feature, food and shade.

I’m watching ‘lead children’ on Netflix. It’s set in communist Poland in the early 70s. But it is where we are. Substitute the climate crisis and COVID for lead poisoning. The lying by public officials is the same.

I’m home on March break and I mentioned to my daughter that the cats seem happy to have my company, following me around with interest. She said Jaspurr meows plaintively like he’s lost something for 40 min or so when I leave for work. What a nice, loyal chap.
