Wow: Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, one of the biggest children's hospitals in the nation, will be forced to create the nation's first ever "detransition clinic" as part of a $10 million settlement with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.

Attorney General Ken Paxton secured a historic settlement with Texas Children’s Hospital (“Texas Children’s”) that compels the creation of the country’s first-ever Detransition Clinic; requires the hospital to pay $10 million for billing Texas Medicaid for unallowable and illegal ‘gender-transition’ interventions, including by using false diagnosis codes; and compels the termination and revocation of privileges of multiple physicians.

After a years-long investigation by the Healthcare Program Enforcement Division, Attorney General Paxton has negotiated a historic settlement that will help protect Texans. Under the terms of this landmark agreement, Texas Children’s will establish the first-ever multidisciplinary clinic designed to provide medical care to patients who were subjected to “gender-transition” procedures. This Detransition Clinic will help patients reverse the damage caused by ideologically-motivated physicians who harmed patients by performing dangerous medical interventions for the purpose of “transitioning” them. So the three components of food are protein, fat and carbohydrates. When you're balancing macros, you're trying to make sure a certain percentage of your calories come from each group. I've always personally found this to be too confusing.

Yeah, those are your macros and they're important for long-term health but weight loss is entirely dependent on calorie intake. My understanding is that in this kind of situation, a doctor would typically prescribe you meal replacement drinks that help you measure calories more easily.

It varies from person to person. Ideally a doctor would give you a calorie budget. You could try using an online calorie calculator, but that's more for cosmetic purposes. I would say don't worry about macros too much. Calorie reduction and eating whole foods is probably more important.

The things that helped me with weight loss were: Creating a meal I knew the exact calorie count of and eating nothing but that. 2 chicken breasts, 2 potatoes and some veggies for me. Trying different kinds of exercises. Treadmills do nothing for me but hiking was very effective.
