“Doctors want to keep people sick” is like saying “chefs want to keep people hungry.” It is a pure fallacy. I don’t take anyone seriously who cannot understand such a simple concept (babies can understand this).

The latest data from NOAA sends a powerful message: November 2024 was the second-warmest month in 175 years of record-keeping, and there is a 99% chance that 2024 will be the hottest year ever recorded. This is a stark reminder of the growing impact of climate change on our planet.

The Greeks absolutely had it right when they included a chorus in their plays. They knew audiences are dumbasses who need to be told “THIS MAN IS BAD. HE IS HERE AS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT *NOT* TO DO. WOE TO THE BUMPTIOUS FOOL WHO WOULD IDOLIZE HIM. YOU ARE NOT, NOR DO YOU WANT TO BE, ALEX DELARGE”

Super cool! I'm trying to apply to graduate school this month; hopefully I'll feel the same way you do now!

You don’t have to be a drug expert to know that alcohol doesn’t make people commit sexual assault or yell “kill all Muslims” repeatedly in public

The best thing that can happen to us as a species in terms of collective attitude, it to fully realize what we are, a species of ape. With this actual realization of our animal-hood we can be more vigilant to our limits (binary thinking, group think, idolatry, etc.). Recognizing limits = innovation

I'm sure there are some species of animals out there that look at us with the same awe and splendor we do to many other creatures. Such experiences are surely not just human in origin.

I wonder if seeing provisions like these from a judge's point of view ever give the judge any sort of pause or reflection in terms of understanding the sentiments of the state and/or a possible trend from those proposing said provisions. I would imagine it'd be a bit unsettling regardless of party
