My last three library books have all been awesome - Appointment in Samara - The Change - and I’m halfway through Parable of the Sower. I don’t follow lists- when I read something online and it mentions a book that seems interesting, I add that to my list. Older books are surprisingly good.

Here are the Nepenthes I’m trying to propagate. Even if they don’t take, I needed to prune the original since I had two large vining stems. This is the growing tip and 2 node cuttings. I have a grow light on 4 hours a day in addition to the daylight.

I used to get sad on the years my kids spent Christmas Eve sleeping over their dad’s but this year I realized how amazing it is to be able to wrap at the last minute and leave them under the tree instead of lugging them back upstairs and bringing them down again Christmas Eve after they fall asleep.

Today I had a bit of a stomach bug and mild fever. I worked from home so I could run to the bathroom/rest as needed. There’s no way in hell I could ever have done this in any job I held before 2020 and it’s absolutely ridiculous that millions of workers can’t do the same thing or take time off.
