Did you know: a ‘maze’ originally had nothing to do with a labyrinth or the physical maze we know today. The Middle English word ‘māse’ meant confusion, bewilderment, deception, or disorder - and to be ‘mased’ was to be utterly disoriented. The structure came later.

The threshold dynamic didn’t stop once people began speaking. It initiated a second phase in which political actors actively compete to shape perceptions. Perhaps it explains why people who were involved in Lasanod conflict and killed SL soldiers are welcomed back to Hargeisa.
