No survivor should have to relive their most difficult moments to be heard, yet so many showed incredible bravery. We're grateful to @manhattanda.bsky.social for pursuing justice and the survivors who stood through such a challenging process to bring accountability to light. We stand with you ❤️

Immigrant survivors of violence, abuse, and exploitation deserve a court system that offers consistency and a fair chance to seek safety. Right now, U.S. immigration courts sit within the executive branch—meaning policies and procedures can change based on shifting political priorities.

Civil rights organizations do so much unseen work. They make sure your vote counts, your kids are safe from hate and discrimination at school, and your community has an advocate when no one else shows up. Yet they're facing unprecedented, politically motivated attacks designed to silence them.

Beds are sitting empty in New York's domestic violence shelters, while survivors are being turned away. When a shelter provider places a single person in a room built for two, they face a financial penalty as a result of NY’s decades-old reimbursement system. The SAFE Shelter Act fixes this.

No matter the circumstances in which a child is separated from their parents, the trauma manifests in powerful ways that affect their development and a parent's well-being. These reactions are not "bad behavior"—they are natural responses to systems that often choose surveillance over support.

Trump’s decision to cut off all TANF money to New York will close domestic violence shelters
Press statement from Safe Horizon, the nation’s largest agency serving domestic violence survivors, saying: “The White House’s decision to freeze critically important federal funding—including Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)—to New York and several other states will result in untold numbers of families, children, victims, and survivors being left without access to safety and care. In New York, TANF not only provides a crucial lifeline to victims and survivors on public assistance but is also the primary funding source for the network of emergency domestic violence shelters across the state. Without this funding, many, if not all, of these shelters will be forced to close their doors, leaving survivors and their families at heightened risk of continued violence and homelessness.
