And that’s not even getting into how the endgame isn’t accessed by just a set number of shines, but that you have to do every tedious “chase shadow Mario” shine in every level to open the final boss. And that means getting all 6 previous shines in every level. It’s not a well structured game

Well now there are only 8 levels. And each has 8 shines. PLUS a 100 coins shine. And even then that only gets you to 73, which leaves over 40 for the hub world. So let’s have you just buy a bunch with blue coins! Let’s have you gather fruit! Let’s have some of the most broken mini-levels possible

I’ve given SO much thought to what doesn’t make Sunshine work over the years. And so much of it boils down to trying to cram the same number of shines as 64 had stars when not having the huge number of levels 64 had. Each of the 15 in 64 has 6 stars and a bonus for 100 coins?

As a trans girl who was just on HRT and had a Culver’s right next to my local Walmart where I first started getting my estrogen, it spoke to me deeply when I first read it. OH! AND one who also knew Show Me The Way since my parents played it on roadtrips when I was a kid. That really hit me too

I think you’ve unlocked another reason AI bros assume it will kill us all. It assumes a sentient and conscious machine intelligence will be logical, but it also assumes *their own* actions are ALSO logical. Personal enrichment over empathy, they’ve convinced themselves that that’s just the logical..
