That did it. I have never consciously used that setting. Thank you and sorry for being such a bother over this app!

iTerm. I tried copying a selected area in Terminal and it did not trigger Ditto.

110

sadeware @sadeware.bsky.social · 09/05/2026

Good question. Yes, I have Maccy running as well. I quit it and copied text in the terminal again, and Ditto still opened, fwiw. I toggled Raycast's clipboard off too (didn't know it was on). Same behaviour.

sadeware @sadeware.bsky.social · 09/05/2026

Not to be a downer but I managed to surface the issue again without trying. If I manually select text in a terminal window and copy *once* it calls Ditto. So it's working in some places, not others. Is it possible to allow a user to specify an ignore list?

sadeware @sadeware.bsky.social · 09/05/2026

What did the fix end up requiring?

100

sadeware @sadeware.bsky.social · 08/05/2026

Thanks Matt. Attempts to force the issues I had before aren't triggering Ditto anymore. I'll let you know if anything crops up again.

That’s what I was thinking too. The expansion tool I use is Snippety (paid), but I could try to replicate the behaviour with Espanso or something else to see if anything changes when back in front of the computer.

Another thought: allow for an alternative modifier like ⌥+C?

000

sadeware @sadeware.bsky.social · 03/05/2026

Hi Matt. I grabbed Hubble, PaperTrail, and Ditto! Re: Ditto, if I run it alongside Link Unshortener as a default browser to handle URLs, or a text expander, copying or expanding anything *once* triggers Ditto. It might help to have an option to increase the threshold of copy actions? Idk.

Looking forward to hearing the discussion. I saw Eddington last night surrounded by viewers who were way too delighted by the Sheriff’s opposition to mandates (etc). It seemed like we saw different films, just like we experienced the pandemic differently. Fascinating stuff.
