I will say that this was probably the most fun we had with Alpha Strike. The city layout forced a close quarters fight where you had to be careful how you moved in order to get your LOS without fully exposing your mechs too much.

It was a very close match, but sadly, one bad turn for me (opponent pretty much but everything while I whiffed on almost everything) and with my Highlander being a bit out of position sealed the victory for Clan Diamond Shark against the ComGuards in this part of Tukayyid.

Was able to put the finishing touches on a 1st Liao Dragoons force last night. I've been working off and on when I could. And realized I reversed the red stripe on the bases 🙄 Oh well Marauder II, Tian-zong, Blackjack, Panther, Raven, Jenner, 2x Galleons, and a SturmFeur. #Battletech #AlphaStrike

Honestly, sometimes taking a bit of a breather and painting something fun you want to paint is the way to go, and then returning back to what you were painting to finish it. It's a great way to prevent burning out on a thing you enjoy doing (I think so at least).

Will admit that as nice as they look with a finished base, the prospect of going back over all my previously completed mechs to base them just seems daunting. So I will probably keep the basing to just this small merc unit and my Fox Patrol and maybe at some point do the rest.

Was away for a few days for an out of town wedding, so I didn't get a chance to post pics of the Nightsky and Vedette painted up in the new Mighty Pangolins livery. And as a way of decompressing from it all, I based them and my previous three units. #AlphaStrike #Battletech

A Marauder (mech), a Nightsky (mech), 2 Wolfhounds (mechs), and a Vedette (tank) in a yellow/orange and brown-green livery. The bases of each of the minis have some sand/dirt and other bits on them.

Then I have to explain to them that the public speaking isn't what is exhausting. That's easy. I can imagine myself speaking to an empty room. The exhausting part is the conversations with many people *after* the public speaking that makes me want to be by myself in order to recharge.

Honestly, the cover rules confuse the hell out of me in Classic Battletech and then that insult to injury when you finally hit, only it actually is a miss just sucks. It's why AlphaStrike has grown on me so much. Can I see between 1/3 & 2/3 of your mech? Yes? +1. >2/3? +0. So much easier for me 😅

Whether I'm right or not is debatable, but I tend to think of accents like on my Hastati Sentinels mechs as black with gold/yellow accents. I always saw highlights as going in to do detailing to bring out the edges so that they're more visible to the eye.

oh! I sat down this morning and punched in my full ComGuards force and that entire force came out to roughly 800 points for Alpha Strike if they were all to be fielded at the same time. Though depending on era of play, some would not be able to be fielded.
