It is not hyperbole to say that "Alien" would not have existed if it hadn't been for "Dark Star". Dark Star was a student project by director John Carpenter and writer Dan O'Bannon starring amateurs w...

"The UFO Movie THEY Don't Want You to See" is very timely documentary that was coincidentally released right after the sham, waste of money, UFO hearings at the House Oversight Committee. Brian Dunnin...

I went into this film with hopelessly low expectations but I saw a couple of reviews that gave it a reasonable thumbs up so I gave it a chance. And you know what? It's pretty good! If Ryan Reynolds an...

Learn how the artists of Industrial Light & Magic turned Jabba’s son into his own man.

Take a look at the thumbnail of the poster of Bird. On a black frame with just some occasional light, you see just a crescent moon of Parker's face and a flash of his saxophone. This is how Bird is ph...

Trading Places is a bit cringe nowadays with the overt racism but damn it’s still funny as hell.  This was only Eddie Murphy’s second film and he was already at the top of his game.  If you’ve seen it...

I like any movie that has dramatic music while tense people in uniform stare at weather maps. Seriously, it's a pretty good film about predicting the weather 72 hours before the proposed D-day launch....

I saw Spectre because I recently rewatched the excellent No Time to Die. Spectre works as a bridge between Skyfall and NTTD and it's not exactly terrible. It has all the Bond things with good stunts, ...

I have known about Marilyn Monroe my entire life of course, but honestly I had never seen any of her films. Next week we're going down to LA for my daughter's graduation and the Motion Picture Academy...
