1/once upon a time I invented a sort of super-power which starts as a meta-power but the more i thought, the more OP the power got. It's basically the ability to force encounters to be like D&D fights. In D&D we determine things happening turn by turn, but the overarching reality isn't literally so.

I'm considering the idea that the Democrat party in USA is more of a pawl rather than a counterweight. what we are taught is that opposition parties act as a counterweight, and we expect Democrats to undo authoritarian drift. but time after time we don't see this.
