"Film you've watched more than six times with a gif. Hard mode: no Star Trek, Star Wars, LOTR, Marvel, Disney, or Ghibli." No contest.

Thank you for this concise explanation of what unites disparate christian nationalists, why they are all for the war in Iran, and how it unifies their perverse view of christianity with national policy.

We used to have it all: Once upon a time in NYC on Houston between 1/2 Ave there was a bar with full-on airplane decor, including tiny airplane bathroom and in seat ashtrays (*ciggies: $6/pack*), called Idlewild. I grabbed this menu in 2001 or 02.

'Where to Land' is a gift for my real Hal Hartley heads out there. Great interview in @slantmagazine.com "I think a lot of the time people equate irony with cynicism, which I’ve never been involved with. Irony is interesting because it highlights contradiction, and that’s what I’m interested in."

“That’s what is so awesome about art: that we deeply flawed creatures can sometimes do extraordinary things. A.I. just doesn’t have any of that stuff going on. Ultimately, it has no limitations, so therefore can’t inhabit the true transcendent artistic experience.”
