Adding STRANGER THINGS to my list of favorite TV shows of all time. So, so, so, so, so, so, so happy @arrowvideo.bsky.social partnered with @netflix.com to release it on blu-ray.

The comics took a lot from BTAS over the years: Montoya, Lock-Up, Harley Quinn, Mr. Freeze’s new origin, the Batmobile often appears in the background in the Batcave with movie Batmobiles

It’s interesting how much the Riddler in the main stream comics restyled himself after the animated version. Always in a suit, very threatening. Matt Reeves took it to the extreme with Zodiac Riddler, which was so much fun.

They elevated Firefly to a whole new level, just like Loeb and Sale did with Calendar Man in BTLH

So hoping someone puts the Ventriloquist and Scarface in a live-action movie at some point.

The commentary for this episode is hilarious. Two-Face using Half & Half in his coffee.

One of my least favorite episodes. Can’t tell you how many times I almost cried when this episode would air after a terrible day at school.

Ryan Malik 🎃 @ryanmalikwriter.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

The pinpoint eyes in shadow is enough to make the Riddler top freak material. But how paranoid Mockridge is at the end really elevates the Riddler from a gimmicky villain to a real threat.

Some great dialogue! “Ah, sunshine! Clean air! Boy, I hate it.” "Remember, it’s not the fall; it’s the sudden stop!”

Ryan Malik 🎃 @ryanmalikwriter.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

It has a sweet ending though with Selina being reunited with Isis. That makes up for a lot of the misfires.

Can’t read the character in any comic without hearing McDowall’s voice.

Completely unrelated, but is there any way you could talk with Hallmark about writing more Darrow & Darrow movies? They’re some of their best mystery movies, and the cast has combustable chemistry. Don’t understand why they cancel movie series fans want to see more of.

Wrote 83 pages of SLASHED, a slasher script set in 1956 and HATED, HATED, HATED almost every aspect of it. Threw it all out. Started with a page one rewrite. Now it’s flowing fine. Learning I’m a writer who needs to know whodunit and how in order to craft a good mystery.

Slowly making my way through STRANGER THINGS. Watched six episodes of S3 this morning. Gotta say it’s more believable of a new gateway to the Upside Down being found than the Soviets building a subterranean R&D department under an American mall.

SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY was a lot of fun! It was refreshing not stepping into the Multiverse for a change. The lack of an overall supervillain is my only complaint. Best scene: The last one between Peter and Ned.

Social Security’s trust fund is now due to run low on money beginning in 2032. The government acknowledged that the Trump administration’s immigration policies and tax cuts are expected to contribute to the insolvency.

Social Security shortfall expected to accelerate, shrinking to critical low by 2032

The shortfall will be driven in part by a drop in immigration and Trump’s tax cuts, trustees say, resulting in trimmed benefits.
