Ryan Lohbauer @ryanlohbauer.bsky.social · 20hThis is awesome news! I headed up the mixed use conversion of this very building, 2501 Oakford, when I was at Stanev Potts Architects. The developers, including Ed, Chris, and Matt (mentioned in the article) had a great vision, and the filling of the commercial space is the final piece. 130
Ryan Lohbauer @ryanlohbauer.bsky.social · 10/10/2026Fire escapes need to be rigorously maintained and inspected or else they become life safety hazards themselves. There's a reason the building code no longer allows them. Completely exposed to the elements, they are way too prone to corrosion and facade attachment failure. 3231

Ryan Lohbauer @ryanlohbauer.bsky.social · 10/09/2026I just witnessed a guy jump down onto the Broad street line tracks at City Hall to grab a cigarette butt seconds before a train rolled in. He hopped out, so no tragedy, but I was shocked. Platform doors, we need them yesterday. 262
Ryan Lohbauer @ryanlohbauer.bsky.social · 08/09/2026Seems like a small detail but it's actually a huge improvement to have this stadium directly adjacent to the subway entrances. Currently the Phillies have crossing guards hold up hundreds of pedestrians from the subway to let a handful of drivers into the parking lots between the station and CBP. 180

Ryan Lohbauer @ryanlohbauer.bsky.social · 29/07/2026Vehicle design has gone well into negligent territory. If Americans really want to buy machines like this, strict liability insurance should be required for the life of the vehicle. So even if the car is stolen, the buyers and automakers can't escape liability. www.inquirer.com/news/philade...inquirer.comPolice recover stolen Dodge Charger Hellcat used in fatal hit-and-run of 29-year-old womanThe unidentified driver who struck and killed Talyia Nesmith in a fatal hit-and-run Monday used a car stolen one hour before the crash. 000
Ryan Lohbauer @ryanlohbauer.bsky.social · 15/07/2026One of the core, beautiful ideas in the concept of America: You are free to tell anyone, no matter how powerful, no matter how sacred, to fuck off. What's more patriotic than a stadium full of my fellow Philadelphians carrying on that grand tradition by booing just about anyone and their grandmom? 020
Ryan Lohbauer @ryanlohbauer.bsky.social · 29/06/2026Looking at this map, NJT should study adding a stop at North Philadelphia to the Atlantic City Line. The connection with the Broad Street Line would shorten trips for quite a few Philadelphians. 020
Ryan Lohbauer @ryanlohbauer.bsky.social · 04/06/2026One of the few good examples of boiling frog theory: The massive bloat in vehicle size over the last 40 years. This 1986 Pontiac Grand Am (which were common cars growing up and I never thought of as a compact or small in any way) looked ridiculously tiny in the Acme parking lot today. 030
