*taps microphone* Just dropped in to say that the BBC choosing not to broadcast @kneecapceol.bsky.social live from #Glastonbury is very much NOT an indicator of their impartiality - in fact, it's the exact opposite. They're telling you which side they've picked. Have a great day!

Streeting called Bob Vylan and Kneecap ‘revolting’, Kemi Badenoch said they’re ‘grotesque’. I’ve never heard either of them use anything like such strong condemnatory language to describe the slaughtering and starvation of thousands of innocent civilians in Gaza.

Oh god. I just had a terrifying thought. Cork losing an All-Ireland *HURLING* final to Dublin. I’d have to leave the county.

Have zero time for signing this weirdo. Hope Liverpool see sense and avoid.

Absolute wonderful news to hear Trent was crap in his debut this evening 🥰

But seriously I would be gutted to see Robbo go. It would’ve been amazing if he was willing to be a rotating option with Kerkez but I can understand from his pov why he rather not. Just what a fella. The best left back I’ve ever seen play for Liverpool by a country mile. Love him.

Arne getting rid of Caoimhin and Robbo is it? We will need to address his clear hatred for celtic people whenever he decides to come home from Ocean Beach…

There is obviously no guarantee that Liverpool will be better either. But all the evidence over the past 10 yrs is that Liverpool consistently make smart decisions, so I’m just fascinated how every summer when the BBC Top 4 predictions graphic drops, Liverpool will sit 3rd and 4th for the majority.

It’s interesting because it’s a continuation of a pattern where the default position of “football people” in the media is to be sceptical about Liverpool, going into a new season. No matter how often this crop prove them wrong. And it’s always based on little more than “it just can’t go on”.

Found it interesting in TAW’s “In Their Shoes” series, how Jonathan Liew challenged the suggestion that Liverpool should be aiming to be better than PSG - insinuating that they’re gonna “struggle” a lot more.

Can’t stop thinking about that eruption of cheering when Trent goes up to receive his league winners medal. The holy mortifying embarrassment of that reception now. Need someone to mute it across all the footage that exists.

“Trent” on the back of the shirt. Fluent in Spanish already. Yeah sorry Jürgen but he should’ve been booed again vs Palace.

The issue is the convoluted link with the actual qualifiers and to be honest, I think UEFA would be better off making the Nations League (in an enhanced capacity) the sole structure of qualification for major tournaments. ‘Andorra v England’-like games of football are in no one’s interest.

Ryan @ryanlevis.bsky.social · 09/06/2025
Loads love to dunk on the Nations League - mainly out of club-focused snobbery - but it’s been a complete success imo. The League A finals are always great, and the stories of the likes of Georgia, Albania, North Macedonia qualifying for tournaments speaks volumes for it lower down as well.

The mid-September international break is the best one. Been there since the beginning of time, and heads absolutely go at the horror of having to pause the season 5 games in. Like clockwork every year.

Might go back onto twitter to see the usual shock and anger at international football taking place during the same time period it does every year. Sense of comfort to seeing it.

Yeah this is defo to the benefit of Ireland as well. Playing regularly with Collins too is a good thing.

Ryan @ryanlevis.bsky.social · 03/06/2025
I agree. Was worried he’d go to a Championship team just promoted and be bombarded with shots all season long. Think Brentford fits well, given they like to try and play football plus they’ve big lads everywhere to compensate for Caoimh’s height.
010
Ryan @ryanlevis.bsky.social · 03/06/2025
But yeah, I just hope his career blossoms now even further and a full season as Brentford’s number 1 sets him up nicely to be Ireland’s number 1 at the World Cup next summer……

Ryan @ryanlevis.bsky.social · 03/06/2025
And yes, he’s not Alisson. Could never understand why so many held Caoimhin not being of Ali’s standard against him, and it’s a shame there developed a weird subculture within the fanbase that would hyper analyse *every* goal he’d concede. And I’m glad I don’t have to listen that shite anymore.

And for what his role was, his contribution has been genuinely remarkable. From penalty saves against Real Madrid in the Champions League to literally winning us two League Cups at Wembley, I’ve been in awe that some young fella who lived around the corner from mine could do all this. Just so proud.

Look I’m very aware I’m biased here. Not alone is he from my city, but I worked with his brother, my mother knows his mother well, his Dad was my hurling coach. It’s as close as I’m likely to ever get to “knowing someone” from my city playing for Liverpool. And that was genuinely a privilege to see.

I’m genuinely both gutted and delighted at Caoimhin getting his move to Brentford. Gutted to no longer have a fellow Cork man in the Liverpool team, delighted he’s going to a good club and good manager to get regular football. I really hope he smashes it and thrives as a number 1 in the league.

Big fan of us getting in Frimpong a few hours after confirming Trent is gone. Moved on to someone with pace and an actual appetite to be here. Lovely stuff.

Ryan @ryanlevis.bsky.social · 30/05/2025
Now that he’s gone, can we pack it in with the well-wishing of Trent please? He got far more appreciation than he deserved on Sunday imo. Not for me, but fine. Now though, if and when we get Madrid in the CL, he should be booed into oblivion.

Think I’ve about one more “can you hear crying in Turin by any chance?” question allowed before my partner, rightly, drops the people’s elbow on my ass. 6am asking it may have been pushing it this morning…

Perhaps but they prob have the resources to be annoying in the market at the very least. Wouldn’t surprise me if the current top 5 is a bit of a lock for the next 2-3 seasons.

Chelsea getting a CL spot and winning a European trophy doesn’t feel in line with the sort of season it felt like they were having.

Agree. I’m glad everyone took the day yesterday, let the news of those injured have its space - and now that we have hopeful news on that front, we can remember the joy of the weekend in good faith. And it was so so joyful.
