2/2 The system works when you don't have insurance companies charging for duplicative coverage, undermining the "single" part of single-payer. This is the monopsony market type from 200 level econ. That's why it works and why it should ban duplicative coverage.

"Universal" isn't the same as "single-payer." Medicare for All is single-payer health insurance. It is only somewhat "universal." The universal part would be the part that applies to everyone. Namely, that we would all be insured. If there is another "payer," then it won't be single-payer. 1/2

You are talking about the status quo. I am talking about creating a true single-payer system. In a single-payer system, there would be no option for duplicative coverage. That meana your insurance company can't scam you for things that are already covered.

I think it would be good to find more ways to inform men about their behavior. Unfortunately, I think that another underreported form of sexual harassment and violence is that against young boys. I don't know anyone who hasn't been sexually harassed. No wonder men think its normal. It shouldn't be.
