4 years since my close friend #MatthewMather passed away, I still miss his creativity, caring nature and the way he lived life to the fullest. Steinem and second wave feminists are responsible for fundamental women's rights (i.e. right to a bank account, credit, reproductive decisions, etc.), struggles that took years to win. The blame for black-sliding of other gender rights belong squarely on the patriarchs, broligarchs and misogynists.

As tributes pour in from all over the world they speak to her ability to listen to people. I met her on her book tour for "Revolution from Within". The book changed my life. She told me I was doing an amazing but difficult thing as a woman engineer, that needed doing, & to keep dong it. I felt seen.

Climate loss and damage funds must go to countries like #Nepal, who are at the frontline of the climate crisis, but did little to bring about the #climate emergency. This is right. Destabilization of Himalayan glaciers due to rising temperatures is caused by human activity. Some countries emit more CO2 than their fair share. Nepal emits far below its fair share. People in #Nepal bear the brunt of climate emissions generated elsewhere on the planet. This is not fair. #climate

Deeply shaken by the news out of #Nepal. A GLOF (glacial lake outbursts burst) so strong that it simulated an earthquake of 5.2, caused a wall of water to crash down, tearing through dams, towns, bridges - the cause of the horrific loss of life and destruction that followed. This is climatechange.

My thoughts are with people whose lives were destroyed in #Nepal. So many lost their lives, families, friends, homes, land, communities, crops, animals, livelihoods. All of that, now gone. Hundreds of people are missing. Not to mention loss of animal life and environments. This is climate change.
