If you're using Spotify and a Mac, you may want to try Spotifly, the native client that I wrote. I released a new version last weekend that replaced librespot with something custom in Swift so that I don't have to use C types and avoid duplicating state between 2 things. github.com/ralph/Spotifly

Sweet mother Mary, by the ghost of Steve Jobs! Working on a laptop screen got 1000% more productive just b/c of this. Also the wifi symbol will turn into an ethernet symbol if you're connected via cable. Nice! 👍

Spotify is a shithole for developers. There goes my dream of having a native macOS client that does not drop memory like a sieve. They just don't want me there. Maybe it's time to move on, but…where? 🤔 github.com/ralph/homebr...

I wrote a lightweight Spotify client for MacOS based on librespot with Swift/SwiftUI. It's far from feature complete, but playing music works. Let me know what you think. github.com/ralph/homebr...

I really want to buy a new iPhone to replace my 4 year old iPhone mini, but they're only releasing models to conveniently play table tennis with, and I want one that conveniently fits my front pocket. Is that too much to ask for? #iphoneminitillidie claude.ai/public/artif...

Seems like it was easier to vibe code exactly the simple wealth growth calculator I wanted instead of finding one online that I first need to wrap my head around. Go figure ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ claude.ai/public/artif...

1. Leute beschädigen. 2.

Aaaaah! The Apple iCloud invoice Email used to be a beautiful 1 page PDF when exported (e.g. for taxes), now it's 2 pages with more text, a button and 5 links that are all useless for archiving purposes. I don't care about magic mice charging ports and Mac mini power buttons, but this pisses me off.

TIL that Apple Photos on iOS/iPad are able to list all the albums which include one specific photo, but Apples Photos on MacOS can't 🫠🤦‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Tried to switch from tmux to zellij to get kitty keyboard protocol support, so I can map cmd keys in @neovim.io on MacOS, but it just did not work out. You can pry my tmux.conf from my cold dead hands.

Switched from Wezterm to Ghostty written by Mitchell Hashimoto of Vagrant fame. Very good experience so far, much stuff built in, like automatic dark mode switching between separate themes. ghostty.org

And this, kids, is why there won’t be any Christmas presents this year. Your father spent all the money on laces that keep getting cut off by bicycle chains. 😐
