I love that... Also, why? That is a lot of effort to have gone to so I presume he is meaningful? This is the best I can find about the name Borgþór.
A screenshot from the Name Doctor about the name Borgþór:

This name derives from the Old Norse “Bergþórr,” composed of two elements: -bjǫrg / bjarga” (to help, save, rescue, protection) plus “þórr” (thunder, Thor). In turn, the name means “Thor, the protector, we trust in the protection of Thor.” In Norse mythology, Thor (Old Norse: Þórr) is a hammer-wielding God associated with thunder, lightning, storms, oak trees, strength, the protection of humankind, and also hallowing, healing, and fertility.

The supporters of Reform UK, Restore Britain, 'Tommo's Blackshorts' and their ilk no doubt dust off their poppies come November But which side would they have supported in the 1930s?

You do not want a COPV anywhere near a possibly penetrative, high velocity impact..

Maybe people who loathe Nazis should turn up in Blackpool wearing poppies? Thousands of decent people flooding through the streets to show that love wins and there is no place for Nazis.

Shocking to see resurgent fascism, modern Mosleyites in England. Similar external influences are trying to exercise the worst elements among us in Scotland but our political and civic leaders consistently and clearly are speaking up for decency and inclusion. That leadership is missing in England.

I am a strong advocate of non-violent direct action. But my dad, uncles, and grandfathers went to war against the fascists whose cruel rhetoric took the murderous course these hateful bigots slide towards once in power. Not all of my family returned. All were damaged. We cannot let fascism win.

Bonjour, Monsieur Tomlinson...
Source: Genealogy.com

Tomlinson is a patronymic surname derived from the personal name Thomas, which became popular in England after the Norman Conquest in 1066. The "lin" is a diminutive meaning little.Charles Wareing Bardsley, in A Dictionary of English and Welsh Surnames, noted that Tomlin, Tomlins, Tomlinson and Tomlyn all derived from the nickname Tom. Before 1200 the use of the ending "son" meant someone actually was the son of a man named Tom; by 1379 the ending appears to be part of a hereditary surname.

In 2021, fascists tried to stop a mosque being built in Perth. They shipped a few dozen racists up from the north of England in a couple of coaches, with a stop in Glasgow to collect a few bigots there. Thousands of decent Scots turned out to stand in solidarity with our neighbours. #NaeNazis
Just a few of the thousands of smiling, decent people who turned out in solidarity with Muslim Scots who were being persecuted by shipped-in racists.

We are holiding 'Perth - Nae Nazis' banners.

I am glad that Scotland's leadership clearly articulated that our nation has a positive and forward-looking civic nationalism, where the key point to being a Scot is: 'do you live here? Aye? Then you are welcome to say you are from here.' www.thenational.scot/news/1817406...
Excerpt from The National Newspaper article's about Nicola Sturgeon's 20th of January 2020 speech to foreign nationals:

Addressing a conference room full of EU nationals, Sturgeon went on: “This event today gives me the opportunity to say again to every single person from another country, from Europe or further afield, who has chosen to come and live in Scotland: Thank you. Excerpt from The National Newspaper article's about Nicola Sturgeon's 20th of January 2020 speech to foreign nationals:

“Thank you for doing us the honour of choosing Scotland as your home. Thank you for the contribution you make to creating the country we live in today. And to say very clearly, unequivocally and as loudly as I possibly can: You are welcome here. This is your home. It is as much your home as it is my home.

“You will always be welcome here. We’re honoured that you’ve chosen to live here, and we want you to stay. We need to keep encouraging people to come here if we’re to keep our working-age population growing and making the contribution to our tax revenues that we need.”

It horrifies me to see the poppy hijacked so monstrously by people who support many aspects of the fascist ideology we fought against. My dad, grandpa, and uncles went to war against fascism. They would have loathed Farage, Robinson, 'Tommo' and his Blackshorts as they did Lord Haw-Haw and Mosley.

You raise the relevant and important distinction about Scotland, Wales, and our civic nationalism which means everyone who lives in our nations is welcome to adopt our nationhood. Immigration enriches our communities. Old Scots, new Scots, all Scots welcome here.

The @cartes.app has a much nicer look and smoother action than Waze. It feels much more familiar. Will give it a try. This certainly fits with my efforts to move to European apps and away from Google and Windows.
A screenshot of Scotland on the Cartes app. It has a coloured-in and softly topographical look. Names are clear, for example cities and lochs have different fonts. The names of cities are in black ink, the names of lochs are white with a lightly black surround. It is very clear.A screenshot of the Waze app. It has the land in white and the sea in blue. Place names of cities and lochs are in the same font but the ink for cities is black and for lochs is blue.

Amazing elephant hawk moth caterpillar, found on willowherb by my gooseberry and blackcurrant bushes in semi-rural Angus. This is the second growth spurt since I found it so it might almost be ready to burrow down into the soil and pupate in a cool room over the winter.

Just hideous. I do not understand an ethical police force adopting a wholly 'softly, softly' approach. Unless targeted social actions are taken within the community - and so many positive programmes have been cut owing to decades of austerity - the cancer of hate will infect all areas of life.

When I was a young woman, I lived at Faslane Peace Camp with forays down to Greenham Common Peace Camp. I kept my hair short for hygiene and safety reasons (police would twist long hair when making arrests). I was sometimes challenged in toilets. Women should be able to pee in peace.
