Our campus food pantry is opening up to Classified Staff in compliance with a new state law. Seems like a better use of funds than paying people a living wage since how many of us will choose to out ourselves as food insecure to our colleagues on our own campus? Imagine the savings!

Just a few weeks ago my doctor told me I need to treat my chronic fatigue by eating more vegetables and now what? I’m so terrified of the explosive diarrhea parasite - especially in this heat wave. My bathroom isn’t air conditioned - it’s 100 degrees in there! Not a comfortable place to be ill!

Yes - Sam Neill was a great actor in so many wonderful films - one of which made my generation fall in love with movies. AND he seemed like a fun and kind person. But I feel like all of that is overshadowing that he was also a babe who grew more and more attractive over his lifetime.

After all these years it blows my mind that Alma has AI chatbots but I still can't scan items into sets or scan in items to add an inventory date. Functionality that I used daily when I started in libraries 16 years ago without having to juggle multiple files, cloud apps, and so many mouse clicks.

I went back to the dr about my ongoing fatigue issues (don’t talk to me until I’ve had my 5 hour nap and 12 hour night sleep). Blood work is normal. They ordered a sleep study. If the sleep study is normal they said that’s about all they can do aside from recommending I see a nutritionist.

A California resident will likely become a trillionaire in the same year my state job offered our bargaining unit a 3% raise. To have the same buying power I had in 2022 I would need a 9% raise. I wasn’t exactly living large then but I also wasn’t dipping into dwindling savings every month.
