Bought another car. I don't think a lot of people realize how much I actually love 60s American cars. Owning a nailhead Buick of this era has actually been a dream of mine for decades. I'm so incredibly happy with this thing.

Drivability isn’t fully sorted, but it’s close. Many other problems to fix too. I’ll be back soon. I know I give the aura of “car person” on the internet but truthfully I haven’t really enjoyed cars in probably a decade. I think that’s finally shifting back the other direction. Feels good.

Honestly the last few days have been a spectacular rollercoaster of ups and downs with this car. Lots of work, lots of parts replaced, lots of credit to friends who helped me, let me use their driveways, and loaned me tools. Turns out I was fighting a dying ignition coil on top of everything else.

Anyway I’m about to board a plane back to Seattle. A good friend is letting me keep it at his place, so I gotta figure out when to come back here and work on it. Maybe I’m enjoying having more and more excuses to come back to Minnesota lately. So incredibly excited for this one.

It’s rusty as hell and it runs like shit but for $1500 I saw the potential. I don’t know if it’s worth saving the body, but I think I can get it running well enough for it to be a very fun car for the time it has left in this world. Grateful for being in the right place at the right time.

This is now the second car I’ve bought because it turned up with a for sale sign on it at intermarque. Truly one of the most special car events in the entire country and something I always will say is worth the trip to Minnesota for.

The amount I like Saabs is directly proportional to their age. What I really want is a two stroke, but I’ve always loved the V4 cars too. That’s kinda where I draw the line on the ones I want to own. 900s are meh and GM era Saabs make me physically ill.

Back in December I decided to start playing GTA3 again, which spiraled into beating the only three GTA games that matter 100%, finally concluding tonight. Took a bit only playing ~1hr a day most days due to being busy with life things. Feels incredibly surreal to be done.

So naturally I decided to force myself to shoot a whole roll with it to get more comfortable with it so I can shoot it more often. Fun fact, the images don't actually cover a full 35mm frame. The 180 degree image is completely contained within a 23mm circle on the film.

By far one of the coolest lenses I own, but never really shoot because it's hilariously impractical. 7.5mm fisheye. 180 degree field of view. The lens actually protrudes into the camera body so you can only shoot it with the mirror locked up and an external finder (that doesn't cover 180 degrees).

I decided I wasn’t immediately gonna buy another vehicle to replace my truck but a buddy presented me an offer on this 75 K10 4spd I couldn’t pass up. It was his grandpas truck, owned since 79 and came with a mountain of receipts. I’m not usually a Chevy guy but I’m pretty stoked about this thing.

Try again the next day with the real roll you meant to develop. Pat yourself on the back that the extra practice from the day before has improved your technique of getting 15ft of thin base aerial film onto a horrible metal reel. The effort is the point.
