I spotted this list at a schoolhouse museum in California. Imagine being wound so tight you fear ice cream shops are hotbeds of moral disreputability and corruptive influence.

A document listing rules for female teachers in 1915.

Teachers are prohibited from:
- Marrying or keeping company with men,
- Leaving their homes after dark,
- Loitering in ice cream stores,
- Leaving the city without permission,
- Riding in a carriage or automobile with an unrelated man,
- Smoking cigarettes
- Wearing bright colors
- Dying her hair
- Wearing a skirt more than 2" above her ankle.

They are additionally required to:
- Wear two petticoats,
- Sweep the floor and clean the blackboard daily,
- Scrub the floor with hot soapy water weekly,
- Start the fire an hour before class to warm the room in time.

It is accompanied by a picture of a woman who does not appear thrilled to have to follow them.

My mirror-less camera may be smaller, lighter, quieter, faster, and higher resolution, but the 5D mkIII's shutter click always lights me up and the colors coming out of it with the 35MM just look right. Taking an old friend out for a spin this weekend...

Similar: My girlfriend found a set of Raiders of the Lost Ark photo cards at an antique store last summer. Thumbing through them was when I realized this was how you rewatched a movie at home before you could watch a movie at home. Also, how do I get "Freelance Adventurer" as my job title?

I under-seasoned it, but the rice cooker did its job perfectly. This is the best rice I've ever made and with the least effort. Can't wait to use it again.
