![Round Coins and Rounds
* Each Hero has a Round Coin with an
active and inactive side.
* Combat starts with all Round Coins
inactive.
* When a Hero with an inactive Round
Coin makes an Action Roll, they
activate their Round Coin.
EXAMPLE OF PLAY
* When all the Round Coins are
activated, the Round ends, and all the
coins are immediately deactivated.
* Each time your Round Coin is flipped,
either to its active or inactive side, you
gain 1 Hope.
* At the end of the Round, the Entity
gains Dread equal to the number of
Heroes.
An example of play follows
The Shield asks if he can go first, and everyone agrees. He says he will distract the roots
attacking the bus, making an Action Roll. He rolls a ⬜ on his three Hero Dice, and
describes the Hero rushing in to distract the roots.
The Shield gains the effect of his Action Power (gaining Barrier [1]), and flips his Round
Coin to gain 1 Hope. He decides to spend 3 Hope on the Taunt ability, and another 2 on the
Shield Bash ability. He declares his Hero has pivoted to hacking at the tree’s base with the
edge of his shield, drawing its ire and doing some damage. The EM describes the sticky
sap bleeding from the hacked-at roots and the giant tree’s angry groan, and the Shield
announces the end of his actions. After each player’s Hero has acted, all the Round Coins are
flipped back to their starting position: each Hero gains another Hope, and the Entity gains a
