I use thunderbird as well it's a great thin client that gives me the functions I need without the massive resource overhead

I've given up in outlook as it's a resource hog. I've switched back to thunderbird as it's a thinner client. I still have old outlook with archived .pst files as I have to maintain audit trails of various projects but otherwise it slows down my laptop and adds no value

Loved Duke Nukem but my heart belongs to Network Doom. Many after hours team games across different departments and even countries in the 80s and yes we did crash the servers multiple times but it was after hours so who knew 😂

So nothing to do with the HB-1 visas aka golden handcuff being a way to exploit your staff? In the 90s when the part of the company I was working for needed actual programmers and not sales people I was on a HB-1. I worked 60-70Hr weeks as I was seconded from the UK that 💩 was stopped when HR 🚩

I actually disagree. The company that I work for currently is all in on AI and refusing to listing to the engineers and fields concerns about over promising and under delivering. We are shouting into the void but can see another massive AI bubble about to burst. The LLMs are just not there yet

Once you ignore the childish and outright rude responses there are some very valid responses on not only the impact of this technology on the students and TAs but on the understanding that the CFO and procurement departments in schools will just cut TAs totally. But then maybe I'm a luddite.

Totally agree. Just because I disagree I don't have to followor engage if I don't want to. I do block anyone personally attacking me or DMing me directly to do the same. There needs to be less attacks and rudeness and more "adulting" in the world.

It's cognitive dissonance we as a species have a real issue with it. We can hold two totally inconsistent thoughts in our heads like "Thou shall not kill" and "we must conquer country X / religion Y and wipe them out" simultaneously. Understanding the issue allows you to try to find a solution
