That comes with it. If all art looked the same, there would be no point to art. The struggle at the beginning will be real, and there will be days that you feel like you're not improving or even degrading, but that's not true. What's happening is that your personal art style is asserting itself

And there's nothing wrong with that! Your art style won't match other artists that you compare yourself to and/or aspire to draw like, and that's perfect! An art style that DOESN'T look like what other artists do is the ideal place to land, because art is about personal expression and the variety

This is honestly the most important part to remember. Don't compare yourself to other artists, and don't beat yourself up if what you draw doesn't necessarily match what you WANT to draw. Part of learning art is learning that your actual art style may not match what you initially thought it was,

I had a purple GBA, a purple GameCube, and a purple 3DS. Purple is the best color for Nintendo systems. If they announced a purple Switch 2 I'd be spending another $500 on a second one.

Winds and Waves is at least getting a longer development cycle than Sword/Shield or Scarlet/Violet did from the previous generations, so that's a good sign.

I'll second Sword/Shield. The games are kind of underrated in general imo, and they're the last ones you can really run an unmodified Nuzlocke in unless you count the Diamond/Pearl remakes.

Also, having Pokemon appear physically on the field instead of as random encounters like in previous games makes it kind of murky what "first Pokemon encountered" means for Scarlet/Violet. It could be interpreted to mean the first one you actually see or the first one you actually fight.

Scarlet/Violet are really the only games where you *need* to modify the rules for it to work, because Rule 2 is incompatible with the way the routes and zones are laid out in those games. A single named area covers a lot more ground, with smaller unnamed sub-zones with different Pokemon spawns.

As I said, being a kid's movie isn't the issue for me. I watch them all the time. The issue for me specifically is seeing a kid's movie in a theater and being surrounded by them for two hours. I've worked many jobs with a lot of kids, the most recent being at a zoo. I don't like them anymore, lol

Same here. And in addition to the high cost involved, I just don't like being in noisy and crowded theaters, especially with how little other human beings care about not getting others sick. Plus, it's a kid's movie. That's not a deal breaker for me, but being around that many children IS.

Yeah, it broke my heart to see it :( On the upside, if this is the path the gaming industry is deciding it wants to take for both AAA and indie developers (far too many of them are embracing slop as well), I'm going to have a lot more opportunity to clear out my backlog in the future.
