I've loved this fantasy ever since playing the Infamous 2. There's something so organic about coupling progression to the story unfolding at the table in this way. Reminds me of the wizard fantasy of finding spells out in the wild, but turned up to 11!

Yes! I do struggle to give negotiation the same high-stakes tension! I love the promise of the negotiation system in Draw Steel, but my group bounced off the system HARD. I'm excited to dig into Speak Carefully and see if I can't level up my Director skills and make another go at it.

A kiln holds a burning Talisman aloft, summoning an eldritch root monster known as a wicker man behind them. The monster holds a party of the kiln's rivals, ensnaring them as it burns with the flames of the undermind. The scene takes place in a ruined temple, with a destroyed wall giving a peek of the pine forest beyond.
The kiln is a man wearing a toga-adjacent robe, a long necklace with several other talismans attached, a smaller choker, and a headpiece made of sticks that resemble antlers. His long gray hair is floating in the air, glowing with heat at the ends. his tattoos and eyes are also glowing, both them and his hair symbolizing his soul being consumed by the undermind.

The Wicker man is humanoid from the chest up, its body being comprised of several thick roots twined together to form a humanoid shape. the roots come untwisted below the chest, each individual piece wrapping around another attacker. The wicker man's head is a lion's mane of roots, with a massive black eye shaped hole in the middle. an iris of pure flame peeks out from its center.

The rivals, from left to right:
-a red-haired elven mage, wearing a black body stocking and blue robe and wielding a staff.
-a sword-weildng radenwight (mouse person in MCDM's Draw Steel) wearing a green jacket, white undershirt, and navy blue pants.
-a knight in full plate armor, dangling like a ragdoll
