Homer Disappears Into A Hedge

I know what you mean, currently there are several RPGs wanting my attention and I can only go by gut feeling to choose one.

Wait, how can anyone hate this goober?
A picture of the monster Khezu from Monster Hunter. This creature has white leathery skin all over its body and two winglike appandages which are also white and fleshy. No eyes are visible but on a long stretchable neck a giant mouth is located which is open and points to the viewer.

The balance between comedy and dread is perfect and good highlighting of how annoying and powerful the angry ankle biter strategy and hit & run can be.

Humaning.
A four-panel comic. In panel 1, a Northern Cardinal and American Goldfinch perch above a busy crowd in a city, looking down. The cardinal says "It's a nice day to go humaning." The goldfinch says "Just look at them. Majestic." In panel 2, a close-up of the two birds. The cardinal says "Nobody tells you that you'll reach a certain age and suddenly get into humaning. I hit 3 years old, and then bam."The birds are looking out over the crowd scene. In panel 3, the cardinal says "Their calls sound funny to us, but each one has a unique meaning." Below, people are saying various things: "I'm tired." "Where's my phone?" "I'd murder a burrito." In panel 4, the birds look down excitedly at a man walking by. The cardinal says "Wait, is that a guy who got dressed in the dark and put his shirt on inside out and backwards?" And the goldfinch exclaims, "Holy... that's a lifer!"

This game is awesome and currently on sale. So you should treat yourself to some Zelda X Devil May Cry.

The environment design is kept sparse for most of the levels to draw your attention to weapons, enemies and the way forward. This doesn't mean they're boring, this game oozes style and if you want some ripp and tear goodness you should give this game a try.

Ironically the one difficulty that removes the timer and instead gives you a classic life bar is way harder (despite labeled as easy) since enemies no longer replenish your health.

Your life is tethered to a timer counting down only being refilled by continually killing enemies (or drinking drinks from a vending machine). This means as long as you keep moving and killing you're functionally immortal.

This game is plain awesome. Everything is designed to get you in a flow to move fast and react faster. While lower difficulty levels allow you time to think the higher ones force you in a most satisfying flow of just go with your feelings.

Additional: If the code is already LLM generated then the unit tests are most likely, too. So you have code you didn't bother to write or read tested by tests you didn't bother to write or read.

Looking forward to the game. Just checked the Steam page and the game shows up here in Germany and the wishlist entry was also preserved.

Ah, sorry, I wasn't assuming that you meant anything uncharitable nor was I trying to attack you. But I get what you're saying and social media really is a hellscape where nuance discussion in a shared understanding is next to impossible.

I think proper disclosure (regardless where one stands on the issue of gen-AI) is necessary so that the game buying public can make informed purchasing decisions.

Yeah, there really is no plan. Billionaires (and multimillionaires too) are people whose mind have been broken by chasing quarterly growth above all else. No future vision outside of infinite wealth for themselves.

Of course I don't wish ill on anyone (except the conmen) who will be hit by the inevitable layoffs when the this whole thing goes under; living under capitalism sucks and you have to do what you have to do to survive.

There will surely be a lot of side eyeing and downsizing when this bubble bursts. Not in the executive level, of course, where the decisions to go all in on this stuff was made but if you're a freelancer or in any kind of AI native dev position then I would prepare for canceled projects.

"Declaring a variable is a timeless decision you have to make deliberately and with great care unless you encure the wrath of the machine god in the future" is such a lame premise to build your programming language around.

When downloading anything tilt your display sideways so that gravity pulls the progression bar down, thus speeding up the download. This does not work with circular progress bars. #Techtip #Lifehack

A simple example how this could lead to confusion would be: If you wanted to climb up a building you use the feet button for jumping/climbing up but if you wanted to grab a ledge because you're falling you use the off hand button for grabbing and holding, which is not the same as the climbing one.

This also had the drawback of being kind of counter intuitive with how other games play and put some mental load on the player when switching between games.

runningerror @runningerror.bsky.social · 03/09/2026
So if you wanted to talk to someone you used the head button (triangle on PS or Y on XBox) or if you wanted to interact with something you used your off hand button. These where always mapped the same way so the button for your weapon hand would not suddenly become the button for interaction.

That was how they called the control system of the game back then. Instead of having a generic action, attack or climbing button your four controller face button mapped to the characters head, arms and legs. You can imagine being a puppeteer steering a marionette.

I've been replaying AC2 on and off again and a few things stand out for me: 1) I dig the puppet control system 2) The more confined maps are more fun to explore 3) You can still see echoes of Prince of Persia in the game 4) You can better follow the story because you don't get content overload

At least from my experience in business software development it depends what tech-stack you use. You can have a lot of repetitive boiler plate when setting up new projects (e.g. a new microservice) but this varies by which framework and programming language you use.

Me after coming down from being completely overstimulated at #gamescom2026
The Tintin "What a week" meme.

Captain Haddock is depicted as completely exhausted lamenting a stressful week with the exclamation "What a week, huh?" with Tintin on the left side correcting the timespan with the sentence "Captain, it's Wednesday".
This is an edit of the original panel from the comic "The Crab with the Golden Claws" with the original dialogue about suspected drug smuggling replaced by dialogue from the tv series "30 Rock".

Today at gamescom we arrived to our station in the business area hall to discover that our two laptops had been stolen over night, despite the presence of Koelnmesse security. We ask that anyone who may have information about what happened to please reach out to us.

3D Mario games feel so good to control you never want to stop running and jumping, which is the key thing you want to nail for a 3D platformer. I don't know how this is for Balan since I haven't played it much.
