Yeah bike is harder to get away on. I’m old but still faster than most people. On foot I have juked, forcing drivers to make a 180. Once a couple decades ago I ran over the top of a VW rabbit coming after me (more dents!). On a bike it’s harder.

Some yes. I am a runner who kicks or punches dents into cars getting close enough. Most drivers are so shocked they stop and do nothing. By the time a couple have turned around, I have kept running off. Haven’t been caught yet. F*** ‘em.

A super soaker full of dog urine. Or perhaps hydrochloric acid. I encounter idiots like this a lot. People who won’t stop at stop signs, especially. My personal rule is if they’re close enough that I can kick or punch a fender or something, I do so. I’ve put nice dents in some expensive cars.

I’m seeing it in a lot of media outlets, but it’s not getting the framing it deserves because we’ve become accustomed to him being such a horrible POS that it’s just one more item in a long list. There aren’t enough superlatives for his level of disgusting.

I keep reading the kids are getting into “analog life.” Buying vinyl, doing “grandma hobbies.” Welcome to the club! Been moving that direction some time, but nobody writes trend pieces about GenX. Anyway, the topic has me sharing my own useless anachronism: my watch. warmcurrent.me/2026/10/07/n...

The saturation of sports betting not just in ads between innings, but *during* the actual #MLB #Playoffs broadcasts is really turning me the F off. Sports Betting & Polymarket/Kalshi crap need Tobacco-level advertising regulations.

She’s right. Again. The old-school ways don’t mean anything. It’s time for more candidates like her and Sayed. Being unafraid and not lying beats party affiliation. That’s why he’s doing well in MI, and why yes she damn well could be POTUS. www.nytimes.com/2026/10/05/u...

If Scalito feels intimidated, maybe he should reflect on why he feels that way, and why anyone would feel the court needs reform. But he’s probably not capable of that. Better if he just retires.

That might be true, we’ll never know. The point is he wasn’t bad, but nobody would give him a chance. That’s the grating thing. Especially considering the many qbs who were arguably worse who did get a shot. Osweilwer, Bortles, and Fitzpatrick to name just a few.

I agree with this take about him, if not the film (because I haven’t seen it, and probably won’t). He’s not nearly as great an actor as people seem to think. I thought he was good in Born on the 4th of July, but uas played the same basic guy in everything else. Meh.

The column he wrote didn’t need that cartoon at all. His point was how great Seattle is, and he chose to illustrate Seattle with THAT? It wasn’t even a good joke, let alone relevant.

Seattle voters don't want "tough" on crime policies or politicians. They want leaders to be "responsive" on crime -- to show up with a range of solutions that demonstrate urgency, seriousness, and effectiveness. This is why Nilu Jenks is winning District 5. She gets this. Julie Kang just panders.

We live in an incredible place. I am proud that our city was recently named one of the top five in the world by Oxford Economics using the five criteria of Economics, Human Capital, Quality of Life, Environment, and Governance.
Photo of the Seattle waterfront skyline on a sunny day, showing downtown buildings, the waterfront piers, and a large Ferris wheel. Text over the bottom portion reads, ‘Seattle Ranked 4th Best City in the World by Oxford Economics,’ alongside the Mayor’s Office logo.Graphic titled ‘2026 Global Cities Index’ with a subtitle reading ‘Ranking the world’s 1,000 largest cities.’ Below, a bar chart lists the top 10 cities by overall score: New York, London, Paris, Seattle, San Francisco, Dublin, Boston, San Jose, Tokyo, and Zurich. Each bar is color-coded by region: US & Canada, Europe, and APAC.
