I'm really enjoying 13 Omens so far. Has a great mix of the narrative simplicity I love about Monster of the Week but also has more crunch like Pathfinder that I know my players will enjoy. I've only found 1 mechanical issue (continued) so far, but otherwise I'm very excited for the Kickstarter!

Despite Treerazer’s hatred, even traitorous or self-loathing elves constitute a portion of his following—a fact that incites no small amount of distrust among Kyonin’s communities unfortunate enough to border Tanglebriar. These elven cultists are outcasts, criminals, or merely those who perceive that they’ve suffered injustice in Kyonin. They’re typically motivated less by faith in Treerazer’s divinity than a spiteful desire to see their kin brought low. Treerazer regards these followers with a perverse sense of accomplishment, viewing them as the ultimate corruption of that which he opposes most strongly. Where possible, elven agents of Treerazer are deployed within Kyonin to subvert the nation and sabotage its defenses; these cultists occasionally willingly allow their presence to be exposed to further foment distrust among the populace.

I got to reverse UNO a Karen today Found a place that explicitly says, in signage, nice dogs can be here under voice control. She gets mad at me for getting close to her reactive dog, who is also off leash. I tell her if her dog is aggressive it needs to be on a leash and not here. She leaves

The farm encounter in Spore War is an amazing example of great encounter design: 1) Meaningful terrain differences 2) Environmental considerations that aren't just hazards 3) Creatures with abilities that can use the space in interesting ways Way better than a creature in a room.

When I wrote my review of the Murder in Metal City, i said I wouldn't say anything about the adventure until I ran it. I am running it. Or I was. My group decided to give up on it after 2 sessions. Never had that happen before in a Paizo adventure.

8] Overall take: this is a $40 box. Compared to the $45 PF2e Beginner Box, it has less quality materials in it, isn't new player friendly, and most of the space is empty. This feels closer to $25 with the clear cost cutting that was done. Very on par with D&D but double the price and less useful

7] As a rule I don't read AP's until I plan to run them. But worth noting is a new ancestry, the Khizar, in introduced. A kind of plant people that looks like the Demogorgon from Stranger Things. I dig that. Also has some extra creatures in the adventure toolbox while we wait for Alien Core.

6] The character sheets are interesting because it provides info in a creature stat block format, similar to the premades in Free RPG adventures. The issue is, unlike the BB, there's no detail about the abilities. You HAVE to have Player Core to utilize these. Clearly not intended for new players

5] I hate hand outs as a GM because I either need to write it, or print it. So it's nice to have something you can just give to people. The paper quality is as good as the map, but I expect these to be one and done whereas a map should be multi use. Overall, these as fine and a good player tool

4] The map quality particularly vexes me. Compare to the thick, durable, glossy flip mats you usually buy. You can use markers on those and erase them. This is just paper. Again, means it's only really viable for this game, would hardly survive multi use. Not a cost cut that should have been made

3] I, as a GM, sorely miss AP face cards. A small deck that you can hand around showing the person's face instead of flipping the whole book and trying to cover important info. Also helps players remember folks when you can just have a picture reminder. But Paizos doing me dirty with dis goth mommy

2] The item cards are very big, but also are made of card stock so they feel durable. I think they could have just gone with normal item card size, but it works well enough. Bigger cards means more text space so it works, and will be a convenient tool for players.

1] I prefer Pawns to tokens, but I understand the economics of it. This one sheet has more creatures and would probably take 2-3 pawn sheets to replicate. That said tokens means I'm limited to using them with THIS specific AP, unless Alien Core will also be tokens. I guess we'll see.
