this happens because of RLHF, because 7 is human mode and this kind of RL collapses the outputs in greedy, mode leaning directions

Thank you Copilot, yes this is exactly the slide template I should be using when lecturing about One Hot Vectors in my intro to AI class

I got nerdsniped by the baffling existance of a new type of guy: a man born in Bavaria under the German Empire that was so good as Communisty party member that he was sent to China to assist the Soviet republic and ended up beefing with Mao on military strategy en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Otto_Br...

I believe to have found new evidence of Openai agents writing to public wiki/pastebin websites that has not been covered by yesterday's release. Some of it appears to be after July 2nd, therefore suggesting that the coordination had not stopped with the end of DSE incident, even up to August

The training of this employed pairwise comparisons between model rollouts and examples from a gold set. I have been thinking about doing something similar in so many other domains, is there any other case that uses a similar approach? What else is like this?

The main supercomputer I use, the Austrian Musica, is currently on a one week maintenance window until Friday. So, I thought I could use Leonardo, the Italian supercomputer I also have access to. Then I found out I can't use that one either, it is undergoing a 2 week maintenance window. Europe

New tutorial on a core CSS problem: Text classification often treats "is this valid" and "does this model work" as separate questions hurting measurement quality. We propose "computational social mixed methods" to unify annotation, ML & stats into one coherent pipeline: doi.org/10.3758/s134... 🧵
