I saw Digger and I can honestly say I have never loved a movie this much that I hated for a good bit of its runtime. It takes huge swings in form and content and ideas, and it nails the ending so hard that it finally just works. And say what you will about Cruise, but he's fucking terrific here.

If I were advising Republicans right now, I'd tell them they have one Hail Mary left to throw to avoid a total shellacking in Nov: Impeach Trump and remove him from office. Go back to DC, do it quickly, campaign on how strong and independent you are. They'd keep the Senate and maybe the House.
