ruby0x1 @ruby0x1.ca · 23/06/2026I'm biased cos I make it, so I find it quite enjoyable to use! We're continuing smoothly to the full release but it's plenty usable, especially for 2D (the website + dev logs cover a lot of that, but can answer things) 140
ruby0x1 @ruby0x1.ca · 23/06/2026All our games are 3d fwiw we just don't call features that aren't ready for use ready for use. As with most things depends on your experience but we have plenty to show in dev logs later this year on the 3d front fwiw 030
ruby0x1 @ruby0x1.ca · 13/05/2026I think it comes down to what fun means: nothing really and everything at once. Some people find doing monotonous things fun, others find it boring. Some people find sad content that makes them cry fun. Others hate that. Horror is fun for some. Fun isn't some objective definition you can write down 011
ruby0x1 @ruby0x1.ca · 06/05/2026The Yarn / Ink style State machine with pausing model has worked pretty well for us atm, lots of custom functions that control the character like a puppet form simplistic line by line scripts 050

ruby0x1 @ruby0x1.ca · 18/01/2026I saw you mention code first that’s a good fit with how we use luxe ✨ e.g the first tutorial is immediate style cos for a long time people assumed it was editor first and would get a bit off track cos of it being the primary path atm (means code focused and tools for content things) 010
ruby0x1 @ruby0x1.ca · 18/01/2026hello! it's on the FAQ about source, but the model is kinda based on sustainability and right now, open source is a time sink we can't sustain among many other things. the issue isn't people having the source, it's other stuff. so e.g if you were making a game and reasonable, you'd easily get source 120

ruby0x1 @ruby0x1.ca · 14/01/2026curiously though they do use game engines to render stuff these days, virtual sets are a whole thing. see here for example www.unrealengine.com/en-US/blog/f...unrealengine.comForging new paths for filmmakers on The MandalorianEpic Games technical lead Jeff Farris explains how Unreal Engine forged a new production path on "The Mandalorian" Season 1. 110

ruby0x1 @ruby0x1.ca · 02/01/2026yea someone reported that, easy to fix. It’s just a screenshot of the old tutorial game running on the switch! Cos we’re shipping our games on console those will land later this year. no current plans for mobile but it does work there before, others can maintain it in future but not a priority 120
ruby0x1 @ruby0x1.ca · 02/01/2026but yea we did get a recent report as well, it's on my investigate list cos I had solved this for years and more recent distro versions have revived it somehow :c it's solvable though 000
ruby0x1 @ruby0x1.ca · 02/01/2026ah this aspect is pretty fickle, if it's too old it won't work if it's too new it won't work, the goldilocks of glibc compat is really awkward atm. Might be something distroshelf or similar can help with? run it inside a distroshelf container with the versions needed! 110
ruby0x1 @ruby0x1.ca · 01/01/2026yep! it's an interesting problem to get bigger. at least they make games and samples! other engines just don't which is a harder problem 010
